Smoothly is subjective to the individual dealer you use. Some honor no problems, some play games. So some have indicated the invoice is locked in when the car is built-- others have said it isn't locked in until the car transits through Kansas City. Which is it? For those of us who already have window stickers but our cars are hanging out waiting to get shipped-- are we going to be impacted by this and need to worry about the price protection process going smoothly?
You were locked in when they accepted the order (the Kansas City thing applies to dealers). I would contact them now to get the ball rolling on your price and let them be honorable and be prepared for what you might need to do.
I ordered in October and got it in March, thus getting it at the pre Dec price increase. My dealer was good, so no issues all the way around. Make sure yours is the same.
