Day 2 at the my dealers...how's it going?

IMG_1342.PNG

Not well, they drained the 12V battery as the didn't have it plugged in. Charged it up and tried again. Service Manager said "their system crashed", not the car. Not sure what that means. He said their software is up-to-date. I wonder if their Internet has enough band width? No mention if they had contacted Ford but I would think they had to.

Ford just needs to open separate shops just for EVs
Funny you mention that. I had a conversation with the service manager and we were discussing that Ford should set up an EV shop much like the Quick Lane or at least add an EV specialist at the Quick Lane locations.

That would be good to know. I took mine in this morning, and to my surprise they had apparently already updated two MachE's earlier in the week with the same TSB. They said it worked, but it takes like a day and half. The service manager said it's because it keeps applying more updates. He also mentioned they will try to install BlueCruise. I told them they could keep it overnight, and that I needed it tomorrow afternoon. We will see.....
So they called and the TSB updated fine, but they need to keep it for an estimated few more days because of all the updates it is installing. They said it's because mine is an early model build. I wonder if this means they are installing all of the OTAs manually. I asked specifically if there are no errors and they said no, it just keeps updating. We'll see next week.

I wonder if that's what happened to mine --
My car was at the dealership last Friday for this update, and they did use my Amazon-purchased cables/adapters, but sadly, they said they couldn't complete the update because they "kept getting a 403 error".

I think they got locked out for the same reason for doing something wrong.

Sigh. The dealership incompetence is so endlessly frustrating. I would rather buy a $300 adapter and rent FDRS just so that I can do it myself rather than deal with this hassle again, only to have them fail.

Just venting. My next appointment is this Friday at a different dealership to try it again.
I think there are a variety of problems that have the same end result of inability to download or install new OTAs. Unfortunately, it’s going to take some tweaking and a few failures with this patch to get a proper result or to know when various parts must be replaced. Hopefully things look up for your car very soon,

Like others here, this process is taking a while for me. I took the advice of some of the other folks and bought the various USB/ethernet adapters because despite calling them 2 weeks before going in, I didn't trust them to have the right equipment. Glad I did that.

Took it into the dealer yesterday and they said they were having problems updating *their* software (FDRS? something else?) to interface with the Mach-E and complete the TSB. Hoping they can figure it out today, otherwise it will be all weekend or longer without a vehicle.

So as of close of business today 4/8 my dealer has not yet received the required cables and adapters from Ford and told me he has contacted his Ford rep. The CSR assigned to me is useless and has not responded regarding her contacting the dealer’s Ford rep. I first spoke to the service mgr about TSB 22-2117 on 3/23. Anyone know of a Northern NJ or Southern NY dealer service department who has implemented TSB 22-2117?

Oh it’s best if you buy the cables and adapter yourself from Amazon. That’s what I did, it’s ridiculous how this has been working out so far.

Yes. I have them in my Amazon shopping cart but my dealer wants to get them from Rotunda, even though he acknowledges that one of the photos in the TSB shows Amazon Basic parts.

Thanks. Unfortunately, round 2 at a different dealership was also a failure. They tried the update and immediately failed and got locked out (for 5 business days, again, as they told me).
I don't know what they're doing, but I'm really starting to get frustrated.

Round 3 will happen next Wednesday, and this time tech support is going to help them supposedly.

Day 3: The good news, all the alerts have been cleared. Departure and Preferred Charging Times have been reset which was expected. Got a call from the Service Manager explaining some of the issues including wrong/bad cables which they went out and replaced, dead 12V battery due to not reading the TSB  and other issues. Sounded like they were done but would like to keep until Monday afternoon. The milage hasn't changed so no test drive as of yet.

Shadowfax update-
Stuck since October on 1.7.1
Dealer performed 22-2117 and 21G01 last week.
OTA 2.5.2 received and successfully installed today. Progress!!!

Still on sync 22028 rev 358 though, and the Connected Services page says I have no connected services.

I mentioned before that I am going to get a new APIM on Tuesday. Has anyone else done that for a successful upgrade as well?
