Not sure who told you that but you have wrong information: https://cleanvehiclerebate.org/en/eligibility-guidelines

Ownership Requirement
Consumers must retain ownership of the vehicle in California for a minimum of 30 consecutive months immediately after the vehicle purchase or lease date. Original lease terms of at least 30 months are required for program eligibility.

The new vehicle must be registered with the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for a minimum of 30 consecutive months* for use in California. Any government-owned vehicle not registered with the California DMV is still required to operate within California for 30 consecutive months immediately after the vehicle purchase or lease date.
I'm not claiming this rebate - I do not gable with government :)

Ah. So profit via tax fraud?
They don't even give you a chance to commit tax fraud. My neighbor who just tried to apply for the rebate was asked to submit his 2021 tax returns so the state can verify his income. If he made to much money in 2021, they automatically decline his rebate.

So you don't pay taxes on your Mach-E? LOL My numbers basically include MSRP and Taxes. How can that be wrong?
I did not have time to dig much, but when you do options they probably prorate taxes based on terms. if you want let's talk in direct messaging so I can show you my numbers. Frankly, I would keep CR1 if I did not get opportunity to work with honest dealer.

Smh... These threads have further stressed me out this morning as I was already late to the order list (2-22-2022) as is... '22 MME Premium eAWD Extended Range

I emailed and called my dealer (Bob Bell in Glen Burnie, MD) and talked it over with them. They assured me that any msrp increase by Ford - outside of any order changes initiated by me of course - will be "rebated".... the dealer would handle all of that internally.

The initial email response was as follows, but I got the above clarity via phone call:

"Ford will do a Price protection on your vehicle if you order it then the price changes at anytime between now and when it arrives. Any price increases you would do to change equipment or anything like that would not be covered. When the vehicle arrives there will be a rebate that comes in your name to take care of the price change. Let me know if you have any other questions."

This type of confusion is why I think Ford needs to re-think its dealership model and focus more on the online order model--it is 2022. For those who order online, the dealer ought to just deliver the vehicle. But the dealership should keep cars on hand for those who chose the older sales model or need a car now.

And try to find an I-Pace for under 100K! my local dealer is sitting on four of them without stickers on the windows and a small note that says you need to speak with a salesman. I spent close to an hour talking with a salesman in a $500 suit only to eventually find out "that i am not Jaguar material" and the price is locked at $115K.
Now this is in Delaware, I can only imagine what the markup would be in LA or NYC

I passed an I-Pace on my way to work a couple weeks ago. It was confused because of the traffic jam and seeing cars merging over. As I passed, I saw an older man dangerously standing behind his presumably bricked I-Pace with no lights functioning whatsoever waiving a flashlight to warn oncoming cars.

What could go wrong buying an electric british/chinese car, lol.....

yeah the info I had read only mentions lease terms, that's a more complete picture of the terms there. it didn't make sense to me how that would work until I saw the note.

"*Note: CARB verifies vehicle ownership through periodic checks of Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) in the California DMV database. If a vehicle purchaser or lessee sells or returns the rebated vehicle to the dealer, CARB or its designee reserves the right to recoup CVRP funds from the original vehicle purchaser identified on the rebate form and may pursue other remedies available under the law for unauthorized early termination of vehicle ownership"

Ford can do better than this, if they really care about their end customer. They could just send an email confirming our price was protected just like how they send those stupid order change emails. We could use that kind of communication when dealer tries to mess anything up.

So, I sent an email to my saleswoman yesterday asking if there was anything I could do to make sure her dealership gets reimbursed for the price change, any paperwork I needed to fill out, etc.

Told her I was nervous because my "Order Preview" had the words "This is not an invoice" at the bottom, and the Retail Buyer's Order from back in December with my signature and the signature of the guy that sent the order in, said "Buyer has the option not to purchase/lease ordered vehicle for any reason." I was concerned that clause might disqualify it as a "Firm Order."

Got an email back that my price from December (minus the rebate for Park Assist Prep Kit) is locked in, no need for me to do anything but show up and buy the car at the agreed-upon price. What a relief! And it sure is nice to have it in writing on her email with the dealership's logo and today's date stamp.

So far so good and at this point, I can highly recommend Spirit Ford in Dundee, MI.

I put a down payment on a dealer ordered Select AWD on 3/31. I confirmed today that they are honoring the originally quoted x-plan price, which makes me feel as though for once my timing was just right!

Actually the Ipace by Jaguar is built in Austria by Magna Steyr. And no it does't have Lucas electrics (You know Lucas, The Prince of Darkness!)

I just called my dealer in San Jose, CA area, and they said they will "honor the MSRP price on the window sticker when it's delivered". I questioned that in the order confirmation sheet they printed out stated the order price, and they said "at the bottom, it said This is not an invoice, and they can't loose money by selling the car at that price if MSRP goes up". I ordered at that dealer back in 01/22 for a premium AWD SR.
After 3 months and waiting for nothing (still in order confirmed stage), I will have to move on. Consider the price was $51,140 ($53,140 (including options and destination fee) - $2,000 regional discount) - $7,500 federal - $750 CA state rebate, it's a great deal and our family has been a ford loyal customer with one 2015 fusion (recently sold to make place) and one 2016 escape (probably will be gone soon). With the anticipated price increase until it would be delivered 6 months later, it's not attracting any more regarding time and price.

Glad that I also ordered an MY22 LR back in Nov. 2021 ($5,000 increase since then) and Tesla honored the original price even after I made a change on the interior color 1 week ago. Shouldn't have bought ford stocks either, what a mistake. Technology-wise, they are way behind Tesla. Price-wise, they are not attractive anymore even with the federal rebate. They gonna lose a lot of potential customers to Tesla and other new EVs.
My dealer in the Bay Area also tried to sell at the higher price but when I pushed them on it, they agreed to take the original MSRP. I'd try pushing them to see if you can get the original price before moving on.

Thats good to hear. I would recommend you get this in writing though. Based on the wording in Ford price increases it seems like that so called price protection is not applicable for dealer ordered inventory.

I have it in email from the salesperson with my direct question of whether the quoted price will be honored. It's not quite a signed attestation, but so far they seem to be on the up and up about it all. The car is built and should be here soon!
