Just checked on FordEtis. My RWD ER Premium is included, but I am not sure why since it seems, according to Ford, that I have a 1.6 L DOHC EFI TI I4 Gas engine - no contractors

My VIN has a gas engine too - 1.6 L DOHC EFI TI I4 Gas engine
Thats so I can charge the battery while driving?
or maybe it doesn't quite know what to say before the car is built.
It will be real collectors item if I get the engine too.

exactly...?

I've got a road trip tomorrow and was planning to DC... per trip planning id get home with like 6% battery left... but I don't particularly like that closeness to zero so was going to stop for a quick juice stop... but maybe now its not worth it (I've only done DC like twice on the car)
Hard to say the level of DCFC required to cause this issue, perhaps the slower charging of the SR model makes this issue less likely?

I've had mine fail (at home fortunately) and I still take it on road trips. I look at it as long as there is a Ford dealer where I am going and rental car places there is really little risk. In the slim chance it does fail, it would get towed to the nearest Ford dealer and into a rental car I go. Now, if I was going somewhere really remote with no Ford dealers/rental car locations (or EA chargers), then I would be taking our ICE vehicle.

Well I guess I should skip taking my GTPE on a weekend trip to Reno for fourth of July weekend. I still haven't used DCFC yet so I should wait on that as well.

This is my question too. Is it like daily DC fast charging? Is it any DC fast charging at all?

Probably a stupid question, but would driving in high temperatures be a danger as well, or is that unrelated? It’s already in the high 90s here in oklahoma.

Can you clarify this sentence? I don’t get it.
I guess when they do updates, the update doesn't always work with all of the modules, so they have to keep trying. Causing it to take multiple days.

I just got back from a 600-mile trip in 105 degree California heat. DCFC and all, in my 2021 First Edition (before I knew of the recall...) No issues, but I was also driving it easy.

Pretty certain the way this plays out is Ford "*HOPES* its a software issue. They will try a software fix that decreases the likelyhood of the *HARDWARE* issue. But at the end of the day this is a mechanical problem (exacerbated by software) that will cost a insane amount to fix all of them. So hail mary is the play. But in case it's not, they have bought themselves a few months to figure it out for sure.
That's actually a pretty solid guess as to what's really going on.

"A complete Dealer Bulletin will be provided to dealers in the 3rd quarter of 2022 when it is anticipated that software and/or parts ordering information and repair instructions will be available to support this safety recall."

Parts ordering is an and/or... so we'll see. Only time will tell. I'm thinking some cars will get parts. *ahem* GTs
I read it all to him and he saw the recall on his screen. He said it was all updates, but like you said...we'll see lol

Not true. I can send you my email from my dealer. Your dealer is either lying to you, or he doesn't know.

My dealer originally quoted me the current rates and I mentioned I'd seen the rate of order month honored elsewhere. He said the following:

Good Evening Erik,

You are correct. It took some digging…your vin is price protected to Nov 26, 2021 incentives. The Options APR is 2.7% with a $1000 rebate. I attached the eligibility sheet for you to reference.

Happy to send you the eligibility sheet if that helps you.
I ordered November 11, 2022 and I was told 2.99% APR for 60 months. The finance guy at the dealership didn't know anything about the options plan (and I'm still not sure if I'm eligible for it where I live - Indiana). May I see this eligibility sheet?

Most people will drive forever and never experience this issue. Several well connected people here point to less than 1% of the cars were impacted (unconfirmed, so I guess it's just speculation, which it seems to be prohibited, as of today :p).
