Thanks for this. They told me they applied the updates via FDRS and the OTA updates would now work. However, tonight I’ve received a message on SYNC confirming an update was not successful. Hopefully they’ll follow the guidance and won’t fob me off!
The unsuccessful update could actually be because they did the update already in which case the OTA will fail. It is actually a good sign that you had the OTA notice. Not all OTA’s are sync updates.

Hey All,

Ford Engineers have a token in my car and I just spent some time at the dealer today so an engineer who drove up to Columbus OH from Cincinnati could do some software and look at some things in the car. This all stems from my post here a while back with a flickering backup camera.

I'm curious if they did anything unique or just normal updates. The wildcard here is that I did my own updates earlier this year. So far, no one has brought it up in discussions but I have to believe they saw it.

They actually secured me a rental car but ended up finishing same day so it wasn't needed.

If anyone wants to lookup my car: 3FMTK1SS8MMA02329. Thanks!

New minor version of FDRS showed up for me tonight. Others may already be aware. 32.5.4

Today it was a PSCM, and a CCM update followed by a network test.

...and they left you some homework:

And you did your own updates earlier this year (was it in Feb by chance?) with FDRS I assume...and they all completed successfully....and this is a concern why?

Thanks for the quick reply! Of course they wouldn't just do all the updates lol.

The DSM makes your wipers wipe as it's programming. Even with the switch in the off position.

I closed my frunk hood down and let it sit on top of the powersupply and then lifted the wiper arms off the glass so it wouldn't be wiping on dry glass.....just so you know. I don't know what windshield wipers and the driver's seat module have in common but...there you go.

That happens to me with some updates when the control is set to intermittent. They start wiping and can’t be turned off until the update is finished. All of the DSM’s I ran started with the control off and the wipers stayed off.

That makes sense. Hopefully they will listen to me today when I flag up that the APIM and TCU haven’t been updated. Ideally I want my SYNC updated so I have full screen car play (not fussed about the games as many others have said).

Dunno, I checked the lever and the little intermittent selector and it was all off, but wipers gonna wipe I guess.

Hi, my car is going into dealer again tomorrow. I’d really appreciate it if someone could check a few things for me.
  1. List of all outstanding modules in FDRS requiring update, and
  2. Software version numbers for the SOBDMC and BECM modules currently installed on my car.
  3. If SOBDMC and/or BECM modules are available for download is it possible to check what versions they are?
I’m planning to do an 8 week road trip round Europe in July and want to make sure I have the latest updates wherever possible.

VIN is WF0TR3SU6MMA17825

Thanks.

Hey Mike, i brought my car to the garage and they told me it was up to date now. Can you see of "they did a lot of stuff" ;-) .. Many thanks
Why in the world would they leave you with the ones that just showed up two weeks ago...(except for the GSM) and do everything else? None of those that they left can be done as an OTA (at least right now they can't). They all have to be done with FDRS. Maybe they just ran out of time.

Anyway these aren't critical to get done. Unless you're having trouble with charging your phone I guess, or getting multiple driver profiles to work with the driver's seat.

The BlueCruise trial won't start until it's activated.
Well considering my car th
They lied. Not even all the updates from 21P22 are installed.

Think you could run me one more time? The dealer at least managed to "unstuck" my updates and I've gotten 3 in a row. I hope all I'm missing is 2.8.2 but no idea how to tell.

Thanks again
