Thanks @scoopman for the update.
MME Select RWD was built on 5/24, supposedly still have the old bad part. How can we 100% confirm this?
Is there anyway a dealer can check VIN to tell what HVBJB part # is exactly in the MME? If they "looked the same"? This is important if I want to pay $$ myself to install the new HVBJB.
Select RWD pulls substantially lower amperage through the HVBJB than a GT. Your car would be about the safest you could get with the old part. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yep. Order of likelyhood of failure is:

RWD < AWD < GT < GTPE

Just due to the potential energy demands each successive level can pull through those contactors.

Whelp, I know they finished my car despite what the service advisor advised me, since they charged it fully last night. I bet this guy doesn't realize I know every time they open the door.

Time to get my car back and test the part out on the Grapevine.

Wife just got the wrench this morning two days post software update. I'm going to try to limp it to the dealer that updated the software...it says service vehicle soon. Let us know how your fix went Scoopman. I'll update as I go through this PITA.

Oh shit. So now we have to figure out...is the update bad or is it seeing how crapped-out our contactors are from before the update and immediately thinking "code red, get to a dealer!"

How many failures are we up to now? Is this #4? All within days of the software fix?

The picture is becoming clearer. Not better, but clearer...

This could all be good-ish news, if the software is properly reporting actual imminent failures. One piece of data we won't have available is how many cars received the update and are doing "fine". 4 is still insignificant.

4 is pretty significant when owner letters have not even gone out. This is BEFORE dealers should be even doing these updates on cars. Only those capable of doing them themselves or dealers willing to do it early, which not all have been.

So sorry this happened. I imagine your wife wasn't competing in an EV Cannonball coast-to-coast run at the time?

You might want to start a separate thread so we can track yours properly.

I think it is the second answer.
