I am going to ensure the right part is in stock BEFORE I take my car in. I already have the RM part, and that is NOT the recall part.

You are probably more right on than my thoughts. I hope my GT holds out until the parts for the recall are readily available. Maybe our single digit temps will help keep it cool over the winter!
the parts are, and have been, available..... Now that the physical remove/replacement is being proactively scheduled you are covered either way. You'll either get an emergency replacement with parts ordered via COPIS process, or a scheduled recall replacement when your VIN comes up.

My part has been at the dealer since December so no worries. Just put off my appointment a second time (myself.) It has been -30 to -40 for the past two weeks and vehicles stack up at the dealer shop so I voluntarily delayed my work because I am not having any issues. BTW - if you read you will find many members are having delays due to part unavailability and some members mentioning that their recall was completed with remanufactured parts versus the part specified in the recall.

I am not saying this is accurate but the sense I get from reading the forum is there are some owners receiving the remanufactured part versus a newly built part during the recall work. I do believe the RM part has had its contactors replaced with the same ones now used in the new part. Other than the contactors I have not read of any difference between new and original units and visually they look exactly the same. What I can’t answer is whether it was appropriate to use a RM part vs the E part to satisfy the recall. But it is the right part for your car and many have been receiving it for warranty repairs.
I just received the CRM part 2 days ago fingers crossed we have no issues. We didn’t have any problems before so I guess we will see.

Please forgive me if this is already discussed. I just checked the website page Ford provided in the first post and my car says that there is no recall associated with it. It’s a 2021 Job 2 GTPE made in Sept 2021 I believe (it just missed the 2022 labeling).

Aren’t pretty much all cars subjected to this HVBJB proactive recall? I know the post says “certain” - what’s the criteria exactly? My service center also confirmed that there’s nothing they can do about this unless the car shows up with a valid recall, which is absolutely fair.

The recall is for vehicles manufactured from May 27, 2020 to May 24, 2022 so you should be part of the recall.

My GTPE is one of the very first batch of 2021s out the factory door, and while my account does have the recall it is still flagged as awaiting remedy (ie parts) so local my dealer can't do anything with it yet. As I gave up classing it as a performance ev years ago, it spends most of its time crawling along in traffic or pottering around town driving miss daisy style so maybe ford flagged it a low priority when it comes to part allocation, so not all the early batch of 2021 GTPEs have even been fixed yet, so who knows how far along ford are at replacing all those vehicles that are currently flagged for the recall.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this.

I am still a little confused. If my car qualifies for the recall based on its manufacturing date, why wouldn’t it show an active recall against it on Ford’s official database?

I understand your point - if a car is flagged for a recall and parts aren’t available or you’re in a long queue, I get that totally. But that’s a different issue.

If Ford missed the VIN, and in the future (say post general car warranty period), the issue occurs on my car, they’ll have to fix it, since recalls aren’t bound by warranty, yes? If that’s true then I can rest assured.

Do you suggest calling Ford and finding out why my car doesn’t have a recall? I don’t think anyone’s going to have an answer lol

Have you had your HVBJB replaced previously?

Mine is still stuck in this not-showing-recall but qualifies.

how to know if my HVBJB has been replaced, I still see 23S56 recall as incomplete on ford portal...
If you did not take it in for the recall work, then it's not done.
You have to make an appointment with the dealer (when parts become available) and the have the dealer perform the recall work.

I’ve been patiently waiting for the recall because I baby the car and haven’t had issues. However, this morning the dreaded service immediately warning popped up and my power is limited to about 40% which indicates my luck has run out. I’ve called all the local dealerships and no one can get it serviced soon nor do they want to provide a loaner in the meantime which leaves me with the choice of risking it or renting out of pocket. I tried calling corporate and they hung up on me after describing the recall that I told them existed.

Very unimpressed with ford right now.

I called my dealer today to schedule an appointment to get the hvbjb replaced. He mentioned it would be a couple of days to order the parts and will call me then. Fingers crossed!
