@Schmetsky yes they did. A co-worker was a fairly early engineer at Tesla and he started laughing when I told him about this contactor problem. Apparently Tesla's main issue was using off-brand suppliers who had poor quality control. Part variation does seem to be Ford's problem as well, though they are using a first tier supplier (TE Connectivity).
You mean like this one. Check out the lead time and orders at the bottom.

Following your plight here is just aggravating. The dealership has no idea who you are and what you've been capable of as a customer (able to quickly call out all of their BS) and it's unfortunate that most of them make the assumption that no customer could possibly know what they know. To add insult to injury they'll probably recommend a new cabin air filter on your way out. Dumbasses.

Ugh, welcome to dealer purgatory. Really sucks being part of the dealer training program.

Mine just texted to let me know I can pick the car up now. Hopefully there will not be any more surprises once I get there in a couple hours.

It's just annoying at this point -- this dealer is basically hostile to me and wants to make sure I know that they know more than me. They'll get the car back to me today. I know the test drive had 3.9 mi/kwh so at least I know they didn't do a lot of launches.

(I wish my cloud dashcams were working, but for some reason my hotspot is offline :()

Run your VIN in FDRS, See what they are seeing.

I was able to schedule my appointment to have the software update done but they can't get me in till July 30th. Maybe the OTA update will happen prior to that. Either way if I'm going to have a failure after the update I'd like to be ahead of everyone else in line for the new part.

4 is pretty significant when owner letters have not even gone out. This is BEFORE dealers should be even doing these updates on cars. Only those capable of doing them themselves or dealers willing to do it early, which not all have been.
Incorrect, all cars on dealers' lots that had the "Stop Sale" on, are now released with the software. Granted, those didn't have a chance of a previous damage.

I am sure they see the recall campaign is being open for your VIN (because it doesn't clear when owners use FDRS) so they have to perform the update to close the campaign. Of course when they connect their FDRS, they will notice that there is no module to update, but I am not sure if that will confuse them even more or not. I hope they don't open a case to Ford's hotline asking what to do when the modules that need updates don't show up in the list..

Todd just did for me and the car is completely done and passed all self-tests, and the dealer is just not releasing it to me to screw with me. Car has not been hooked up to FDRS today and passed all self-tests last night and charged normally to 100% last night.

I've just called and left a message for the service manager of the dealership to see if this will convince them to let me have my car.

They already updated the campaign I'm told

I think you need to open the kimono with this dealer about your conversations with Ford and how they are continuing to disappoint you and that you will make sure that Ford hears loud and clear.

Owner cars, you know, the majority of Mach-e's on the road. Those were not yet owner cars, as they hadn't been sold yet.

Time to go over there and break the car out of jail. Get a posse together if necessary.
Most dealers in the socal area are clueless and assume everyone is within a couple of miles radius of the dealership, depending on where scoopman is in the LA region and the time he gets the call to pick up it could take hours just to get to the dealer.
