I do realize this. If they could fix it, that would be an option. As of now, there is no eta on a repair. Plus, there are other things that can be accomplished via the lemon law here in Colorado.

I mean I get it's frustrating, but I have to assume they gave you a loaner. Go on a long road trip, put a lot of wear on a car that isn't yours.
Nope, at least not until half an hour ago when Ford intervened. Leaving the country in 2 weeks. This is getting interesting.

I put almost 4k on my dealer loaner in 3 months while I waited for HVBJB to be completed. :)

Did you have a loan or Ford Options during this time? Did Ford cover this or are you having to try to recover these costs?

I would be quite upset also based on what I have read.

ford (it doesn’t matter who made it, Ford is responsible) put an inferior part in the car and they refuse to do a real recall. Yes, I know they could not handle all cars at once anyway but that is not the point. It’s indicative as to who they are as a company.

they stress that they are all in for electrification. They are not. Many of their dealers are inadequately trained or have insufficient people to deal with this new technology. They rolled out the MME and now the F150 before their support system is fully in place and possibly not testing their cars properly. We will see how the F150 does. Hyundai seems to be having problems with their GV50 performance car also, so it’s not limited to Ford.

there is a reason that Fords accounting reserve for warranty work is one of the highest in the industry?

they and their dealers need to step up and perform better. To me that’s what matters. How do they handle problems? That’s what I care about because all cars have some issues.

if the car was 30k maybe I would have a different feeling but at 55k+ for premium cars they are more or the same compared to BMWs and other German cars and generally speaking people get treated much better.

I'm confused, I thought there was a warehouse full of HVBJBs ready to be sent out for this issue? I believe @DevSecOps said this was the case. The warehouse is already empty???

Dealers are garbage. Find a good one and hang onto it. Worst part about it all. Go find the BEV customer service execs emails and email them - they help.
Agreed. I'm on 5 months of waiting for the dealer to schedule the glass recalls. There are exactly 5 cars on the island with the recall left to do. Dealers suck. I'm rather sympathetic to the OP and their plight. If I was in their shoes (and I'm not), I'd likely wait a lot longer and then do a buyback or lemon law the thing if it hadn't been repaired, but I genuinely don't need my MME for transportation. YMMV

His local warehouse is probably out of stock. That warehouse is likely quoting the time it takes to restock from the vendor instead of looking to another warehouse for the part.

Ford Corporate can get involved and expedite the shipment of the HVBJB's from another warehouse outside of the geographical region, but the warehouse doesn't do this by default.

The other scenario is that the dealership is just backlogged and can't get to it, labor wise, for weeks.

My GT PE had the HVBJB fail on 8/25. Dealing with Ford has been a complete disaster, but wanted people to know that as of 10 minutes ago, the person working the second case at Gord's BEV team confirmed that they have no ETA on replacement parts.

I'm 2 weeks from being qualified to lemon law my car and am likely to do just that. It has become a care that I cannot rely upon, has underengineered critical parts and the dealer and the company both are completely unprepared to support these rolling lottery tickets.

Woe to you who have a similar failure. I just hope the mainstream auto media picks up on this quickly.
This sucks - is your car still drivable? If so, perhaps you might have better luck with another dealer?

My sense is for issues like this, going to a huge dealer is a better bet. I don't know how large/small that dealer you listed is for your area.

Don’t lemon law it , that lets the crafty sneaky incompetent rat face dealer resell it and make a bundle.
I had 2 early 2021s a GT and a premium and I could’ve lemon law them both as they sat multiple times for weeks but I didn’t. I made the dealer fix them and then I sold them and made eight and 12 grand respectively on the sales.

And I have 2 more on order. Deposit down on the Vietnamese V fast and I’m placing an order for a hybrid Maverick on the 15th. Looking for a Kia as well, and I’ll probably sell most of them.

Now is the time you can try out cars and sell them even if they break don’t let the dealer take your money have them fix it and sell it

I am reading both what you wrote and what you are implying. You are missing some very critical things that are causing your implications to be incorrect.

My wife also uses this car for her business - no car = no income.

Ford cannot responsibly deal with these issues. My case was closed as "resolved" 5 minutes after it was opened.

The dealer is a train wreck. You cannot reach anybody by phone. They have 1 part time EV service person and no plans to do better.

I have a lot of patience. I waited two weeks to get an update. The update is that there is no ETA. I have no faith in the car, the dealer or Ford. It's not just a phone. And, I've had a phone die before. It was resolved with a replacement in 15 minutes. Far away from where I live. Your analogy is faulty. Ford is completely unprepared to be in this business, and doing little to get better. Their marketing - first rate. Their customer service - no so much.

You can read for days here about Ford's really poor communications. From the minute the order is in, they are very bad at communications.

I'm well aware of the supply chain issues. Last week I got a quote from a major computer company of 109 business day for new hardware. Imagine if that put that customer out of business.
I see that you are in Colorado. What dealer did you take it too? I've actually had pretty good service from Groove Ford on Arapahoe....and I know others trust Sil Tell Har in Broomfield. If your car is still drivable (yet crippled) it might be worth checking out a different dealer. Of course if it is a lack of part......it still may take some time. I'm still waiting on a backordered Screen.....but I don't think that's the dealers fault.

Not necessarily. Even if you sell above MSRP, there are still taxes, DMV fees, other fees, ADM, etc that you have to account for, and is some states they are pretty steep. Lemon buyback refunds taxes and fees and I believe they would even cover the ADM since it is part of purchase price.

I just sold my GT above its 2021 MSRP but I would have received more if it was lemon-ed because it had low milage.

The title of this post is very misleading. I'm confused. My dealership said they have an HVBJB contactor in stock and are going to start working on it as soon as the EV tech becomes available. Maybe if they need to order the part there's no ETA, but plenty of dealerships have them in stock. Try calling around.

Autonation Ford on Broadway. Just had a very interesting conversation with Mark Perry the new GM there. Oh, and today 600,000 F350's got recalled along with a stop sale order.
