Order Scheduled for Production Date

Now that I have a build date I called my dealer to see if I could get my VIN number and the salesman told me they won't have that information until the car ships. So I called the 800 number listed on this site, to see if I could get my VIN from them and they told me I needed to contact my dealer for that information. I asked them to double check because of what I see here and after a while on hold they confirmed that I needed to contact my dealer. I guess it's back to the dealer

Once it has been scheduled the dealer should have the VIN.

Have my production date and went to see a pre-production premium edition yesterday at Sayville Ford, Long Island NY. Looks great and all the detail was spot on. I'm looking for delivery just before the end of the year.

Reservation date: JAN 2020 # 10035XXX
Order Date: 27 JUN 2020,
Dealer confirmed in his system today that above is true with an estimated arrival date between 10-15 DEC 2020.

Guess this confirms that they are mixing in premiums with FE builds and that the build date is going more off the order date than the reservation date. MachDaddy's got a Christmas present coming!

You're giving me hope. I ordered June 28th with a 34,5xx reservation number. Premium AWD ER

Yea, I also have VIN envy because the sales manager at my dealer is also a less-than-helpful dufus but with dealer as potential gatekeeper to my precious I will leave it at that.

Once it has been scheduled the dealer should have the VIN.

Dealer is wrong. I have ordered many Fords and you get a VIN almost right away.

I would agree but as we all know the launch, ordering process everything else is not normal

I’m wondering if we should be collecting priority as well to see if we can get a pattern with that? My dealer claimed priority doesn’t matter for Mustang Mach E, but dealers don’t always have accurate info.

I actually have friends that own two different Ford dealerships. they both told me that priority would normally impact build dates but not on the MME.

I just called the hotline to get my VIN and the gentleman was very friendly, but he said that he couldn't get it. I'd have to get it from my dealer, who hasn't answered my text yet.

(TBH I'm just anxious and looking for any info I can get. It's not like it's life or death or anything! )

I want to thank everyone on here. I called my dealer and spoke to the inventory manager. This is what I learned just now.
Ford email says production is 11/30
Galpin inventory mgr stated my actual build date on my FE is 12/4.
Vin number 3FMTK3SUXXxxxxxxxcc
Expected time from 12/4 to Galpin in LA is one month. I am sooo hoping that he is wrong.

According to him REAL build date is 12/4.
arrival 1/4.
Any chance that he is wrong on delivery time???

hmm. we give dealers a lot of crap on here for not knowing anything but I feel like they'd have a clue about MX to LA delivery time, since it's not like it's a new plant or anything.

Ask your dealer to contact their ford factory rep....that’s what mine did to find my VIN.

Yeah, but at this point I would say we are in the under promise phase.
no dealer wants us calling like 5 year olds daily asking “are we there yet?”
If it gets here sooner they can be heroes.

Ask your dealer to contact their ford factory rep....that’s what mine did to find my VIN.

Why are so many in a hurry in getting the VINs now? The only case I can see it being useful is if concerned about getting the tax rebate for 2020 and delivery will not be until 2021. Is there some other use case for the VIN that can't wait a couple of months?
