EAP confirms that it works through wifi which means phone hotspots would work too.

You’ll just have to turn wireless CarPlay off to use the hotspot. Does Android Auto use Wi-Fi too?

I have FDRS running on my MacBook in Bootcamp. I don’t have the hardware to do the updates, but I use it to keep tabs on my dealer when they say they are doing updates.

It’s officially fall now. Ford has 3 months to miss their latest deadline.
What is this “BootCamp” of which you speak? MacBook Air with M2 here ?

Sigh. The only product showing up for me in Early Access is BlueCruise. And ford is telling me I’m on the cutting edge ?

I got this and the BC map update as an email from EAP but neither show up if I login to the website. Frankly I've never checked the site until your post.

This is what I have in connected services for Ford streaming:

Meh not too bad! still sucks that we need to pay for all these subscriptions.

I have the connected car, hotspot, and now maybe this?

If your phone can hotspot, you don't need it. I would HOPE they'll do a bundle option for the car's hotspot and Ford streaming.

Might be cheaper to add a hotspot ability to your cellphone plan or check if you already have it. There's no additional fee to watch the news/Netflix on the power up but you need a connection. It is silly if they're going to make people pay to access the car's internet for a hotspot and pay again to access the car's internet for streaming.

I've yet to find a full list of what this service provides access to. Ford is vague: "With Ford Streaming, you can stream your favorite music, podcasts and audiobooks, as well as your local and global news right from your vehicle." Don't I get those on my phone already?

What would I get for $10 a month?

I'm assuming it will just give your car mobile data to stream. Or you can use WiFi, like your phone's hotspot, and not need to sign up for the sub.

What is the connected car subscription? Also, from my interpretation of whats currently coming out people with WiFi subscriptions won't need to pay. We will automatically get this since we are already paying a higher amount than the 10 dollars for just this. So we just get to kick back and enjoy the update.

I don’t even think we’re getting YouTube. It seems like it’s a bunch of crap like Alexa music, podcast services and live news.
