Sorry to bother anyone, but I am at a loss as to what to do next to get Blue Cruise and would appreciate any help available.

I have a June 21 Job 1 car and thought things were finally falling into place when I received 2.6.0 on 5/16/22, 2.7.1 on 5/23/22, 2.7.2 on 5/24/22, 2.4.3 on 5/26/22 and 2.7.4 on 5/31/22. Then radio silence until 9/2/22 when 22-PUO727-VI-FXB installed but once again radio silence.

I was hoping to have BC installed OTA based on the many comments on dealer installs creating many issues, but as the deadline for 21G01 approached I finally took it to the dealership on 9/15/22 to have it done.

I got the car back a week later and was told everything was done and that I had Blue Cruise.

First time on a Blue Cruise road I received a message that Blue Cruise was available and pressed the cruise control button as directed, received a message saying be prepared to resume control which I clicked OK and the car immediately went into adaptive cruise control with lane centering. This has continued to be the case, except I now get both the keep hands on the steering wheel and keep eyes on the road messages, but have never seen the blue cruise screen.

In checking my account at Ford Motor.com it still shows Blue Cruise as coming soon and not activated. I called the number provided for Blue Cruise and was told an OTA was not done correctly and I had to go back to the dealership.

Am I missing something? I checked ETIS and it shows no outstanding field service actions.

I really like this car, but at 75 years old having to try and figure all this out is not what I feel should come with a $60,000.00 car.

I have another appointment with the dealership and if someone would be so kind as to run my VIN show what if anything looks undone I would be most appreciative.

I have followed this forum religiously since I ordered my car in January 2021, and you ladies and gentlemen are such a great source of information to those of us lacking more than basic tech skills. Thank you so much for all you do.

It would help if you had my VIN, 3FMTK3R7XMMA35748.

I looked over the session logs for the September visit to the dealer and nothing really is jumping out at me.

I want to make sure it's not a case of "switchology" so just to be sure...you have selected the option for Adaptive Cruise with Hands-Free in the settings and you do have the lane-keeping function enabled using the steering wheel button?

And you are on a known mapped BlueCruise hands-free road (Most, if not all, Interstates and many other divided highways)?

There is a TSB 22-2295 that deals with problems associated with driver's assistance features not working correctly.

I recommend you discuss this with your service department and if they can't figure it out ask them to request engineering support.

So they stopped at around 2:15 this afternoon and you still have one APIM update showing as available. Not sure why they stopped. They may have run into a problem but it's not really clear from the log.
Hey Mike,
Just got the call that my car is ready. Mind checking and providing the updated list ? Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. I do have adaptive cruise control with lane centering functioning. This is on Interstate 435 in Kansas which is a BC hands-free road and the car tells me it is available, at which point I activate the cruise control button and agree to be ready to resume control. If I take my hands off the wheel I get the warning bong and message. If I hold the steering wheel in a manor where my arm blocks the cameras from seeing my eyes I get the keep your eyes on the road message, all within the space of a few seconds. But, I never get the hands-free blue cruise screen, only adaptive cruise control with the hands on the wheel symbol

I have all three options selected under adaptive cruise control and I'm certain I have the lane-keeping function enabled on the steering wheel button as the adaptive cruise control with lane-centering works just fine. I'll check that again in the morning but I assume if it works with adaptive cruise control its been enabled via the steering wheel button. My adaptive cruise control with lane-centering has always worked.

I'll take the info you've provided with me to the next service appointment. Thanks so much for your help!

Mike, this is where I really show my lack of understanding, but are all these updates ones I should receive OTA, should the dealer have done these in September or am I stuck trying to figure out how to get these downloaded? This is where my frustration comes from, I have neither the technical skills or technical knowledge to be messing with these things. If Ford expects all Mach E owners to be as competent as you in these matters that's a big ask.

Those would be the alternatives, yes.
I left the car at the dealership yesterday morning and got it back this afternoon.

They said it took them approx. 9h to complete the 21P22 update. They took care of 22P08 and, since the car was there for another full day, they also updated “other control modules” (at least that’s what the service summary says).
Do you mind running my VIN 3FMTK3SU5MMA42851 once again to see what they left behind? Thanks!

All done, nothing on the list.

They struggled mightily yesterday. They reprogrammed the GWM the TCU and the APIM. Hopefully everything will be working when you pick it up.

Well if by "other modules" they mean the gateway module they overstated what was done.

Yes they did do 21P22 and the GWM. But that's it. And it does take 9hrs if you're not staying with the car to press the "OK" button at the appropriate time instead of wandering off to do something else and then checking in occasionally.

Here's what they left:

EDIT: I should add that the TCU just showed up overnight last night.

Good morning.

Here's the list of available updates (with two Gateway modules?):
WF0TK1EM6MMA50120-22-Sep-22.png

I did see where they tried to update the gateway module.

It says during several attempts that the download of the software failed (or isn't verified?).
("Kan het binaire bestand van de software niet verkrijgen: MU5T-14H027-EKK. Wilt u het nog eens proberen?")

I don't know if they have internet problems or what the issue is there.

They should be proactive and tell you what they are going to do to fix it. Are they going to try a PMI procedure to recover the GWM module? Or are they going to order a new one? Those are the two questions I'd ask.

Mike
Hey Mike, no European problem but just a F*cked up garage ;-). I brougt my car to a another garage and they updated my complete car , so they said. Maybe you can do a last check but i am a happy driver at his point. Many thanks again and have a great weekend,
