Not sure if I’d wait. While the SVS will still let you drive, if it does fail you could be in an uncomfortable position.

How did they determine yours was definitely a hardware issue? This issue happened right after the amazon alexa update with a bunch of other issues (like its stuck in guest mode and wont let me set my driver profile). I am wondering if this could all be software glitches?

I scheduled an appointment and they hooked it up to what I assume was a computer or diagnostic tool and read the codes. At a minimum I would take it in and let them see what the problem is, better than risk being stuck on the side of the road or worse.

depending what DTC they find.... IF you need HVBJB replacement, make sure they order thru the COPIS parts order program to expedite order/delivery

The soonest I could get in is next week but I think it being a software issue is wishful thinking.

The issue happened when I floored it on a freeway entrance ramp and now the car is having issues charging normally. when i connect it to the evse you hear the contactor in the evse opening and clossing many times. sometimes it stops, sometimes it eventually starts charging.

One thing that I wonder now if its related.... My car charged perfect for the first 6 months, then both my openevse and the ford one would error out in the middle of charging and over heat. I assumed it was from the additional summer heat but perhaps its due to additional restiance in that junction box that failed?

So if the HVBJB needs replacing it requires removing the entire battery pack? crazy. I called the BEV team and they said once I get a diagnosis they would help me with a rental car. People are getting gas money too?

What kind of rental car did they give you? Did they cover it 100%? I'm debating if I just want to drive my wife's car for a few weeks or take the rental.

Something I forgot to mention, an unexpected surprise awaited me when I picked up my car... the second key fob! The new key fob has the mustang logo in the black styling like on the MME.

I'm going through this now with my GT. I'm in the UK though. The car was in for some software for the recall a few months ago. It went in last week for the errors of awd/powertrain fault and hvbjb fault and they gave it back the next day saying it needed 'loads' of software updates but was okay now. Took the car on a long trip yesterday for work (3 hours each direction) and on the way home it happened again with a slightly different hvbjb error message in the app. I called our dealer this AM and said I was aware of a TSB for this and I need it fixed as I need to be able to trust this very expensive vehicle can go on road trips and they're taking it back in next week for me, but they said the TSB might only apply to US cars and seemed unaware of it. Can anyone confirm TSB will be for all affected vehicles regardless of destination market? The car was ordered in October '21 (I think, we didn't order it, it came available when someone else cancelled) and we took delivery in June '22 so the build date definitely is before May '22. I need to go armed with the right info to make sure I can get this fixed in this visit, I really don't want to be dragging it in every week and scared to drive it anywhere in case it fails to start in a multistory car park.

I am really sorry you are going through this. The UK might be different, but I am pretty sure someone from Europe posted that they got the HVBJB repair.

@DevSecOps has helped a lot of people in the US, and I realize the Ford support teams are probably different in the UK, but maybe there is something he can help you with. Some dealers in the US have also failed to recognize the TSB, even though we know it exists. So hopefully that is all that is happening with you.

I wish I could help you but maybe Todd can. Keep us updated on what happens.

Mine is still at the dealer sitting for over a week, supposedly waiting for the HVBJB. They said they emergency ordered it from Ford but Ford wont tell them when/if they will send one. I decided not to go through the hassle of the free rental car and just drive my wife's car for now but if its going to drag on I may call Ford BEV team back and get the rental.

The dealer didnt seem confident the part was on the way. I'm seeing now this is a disaster for Ford, with every car likely needing the new HVBJB, I am betting they wish they made it accessible without having to remove the entire battery!

Well, my car is still at the dealer. I should have been getting it back today but apparently some bolts are on back order and whilst they were expected yesterday, haven't shown up yet. By the time we get it back it will be at least a full month sat at the garage. We've been given an ICE hire car so costing way more to run petrol cars than our cheap off peak charging rate for the mach e, to say nothing of making a payment on a 2022 Mustang and driving a previously smoked in 2020 Kuga. I'm losing my patience with Ford and the whole situation at this point. The parts were ordered like 3 weeks ago as our dealer had to wait for Ford to send a field tech to support the repair which took 2 weeks so this bolt has been on order for three plus weeks. Feeling like I'm in an episode of a comedy wind up show at this point and guessing we won't see the car again before next week at best. Dealer doing everything possible but Ford seem to have totally dropped the ball here.

I had the same issue on my 2022 Premium AWD ER (Batch #3836, Build Week 1/24) Premium AWD ER on 11/14/2022. Just over 9,000 miles, on the way to work, driving normally on a 55MPH back road in MN. The road did have some snow and the temps were below freezing. Never DCFC, just charge at home and rarely get on the throttle. One crazy thing is that the dealer service department actually contacted me after the fault. They said the car should not be driven and I could drop off the car and get a loaner the next day.

I dropped the car off at the time we discussed, but they ended up being out of loaners. They ended up talking with the sales department and they loaned out their F150 Lighting Lariat to me. I have now been driving the Lightning for a couple weeks, but eagerly awaiting my fixed car. The Lighting is good but is much less efficient as I'm racking up my utility bill to keep this thing charged.

The dealership followed up with me the next day stating the HVBJB would need to be replaced and it will be ordered, but that is the last time I have heard from them in over two weeks.

I’m having this very issue. My local ford dealership has a bad reputation and when I talked to them they were clueless about this seemingly well-documented issue. How do I get the BEV folks involved as I’ve seen recommended here?
