What sources are y'all listening to? Sirius XM sucks as always. Listen to some Lossless or HD Radio playing Classical Music and it sounds fantastic.
I listen to lossless. All of my stuff in FLAC. But still it doesn’t excite me played through the B&O system.

My front center speaker blew out after only 8-9 months! The navi lady sounded like she smoked for 30yrs, ha! Terrible front sound until the dealer replaced it on 2nd attempt, uggggg. They thought it was just Android Auto glitch but we finally isolated the bad puppy to dash center speaker. Sounds beautiful now!

It depends on what your listening to. Not Sirius Radio, WAVE files on a flash drive is the best. HD radio is not bad. You cannot listen to music that is highly compressed. I have a few B & O demo flash drives with some WAVE files. If you would like me to send one, send me a msg with your address. You’ll hear the difference. I have B&O in my F-150 also, it sounds great. But some are audio buffs and expectations are much higher. That offer is for anyone, I only have a few flash drives left.

FYI the system is DSPed for the stock drivers, if you replace the loudspeakers the tonal qualities will be off since the DSP being applied is wrong. It requires an aftermarket DSP as you said to actually realize a tonal improvement.
Now I have another excuse to buy that amp with DSP. :D

Too bad they just did not set the system up with an advance mode and have a user adjustable equalizer. Have a restore factory setting to put it back to what they tuned it for, but still allow the user to adjust it. It would not be like a DSP but it would have at least allowed for some adjustment beyond treble, mid and base.

My 2014 Ford Cmax with the Sony sinc system is much better than the B&O system in the mach.

I thought I was driving in a car with lots of driving related noises, not sitting in a studio. I can hear the sound system over all of that other stuff, seems fine to me.

It’s easily the best stock sound system I’ve ever heard in a vehicle, including Bose systems in GM vehicles. I’ve gone aftermarket on multiple prior brand new vehicles because I just couldn’t stand the stock systems. That being said, it’s very subjective and I’ve never experienced a sound system in a $70k+ vehicle before so my perspective isn’t fully educated. The DSP update may be what you need because I can’t imagine anyone saying that it’s actually bad - maybe just not as good as truly high fidelity options.

I came from a XC90 inscription w the bowers and wilkins.

My wife's QX60 has the upgraded Bose system

my rogue had the Bose system I put the mach e b&o about at this level

Bose's reverb chamber magic imo is well suited for cars and in our caselow power and space options, ford should have gone w them

I'm not an audio head but I've pumped the bass, enabled surround mode and pushed the fade slightly back. I feel it sounds 'good'. I have used other luxury cars and for a stock system, it sounds decent in my opinion. I have a August 2022 build so not sure if that got the DSP update folks are referring to but I would in no way put this in the 'bad' category. I've been in cars where cranking the bass rattles the whole car and every hollow nook and cranny vibrates. That is 'bad'. This is nowhere near that and even with the bass cranked, I do not think it muddies out the mids and the treble.

I’m not an audiophile but I am an audio /home theater enthusiast and I think the B&O is decent once you tailor the bass/mids/highs to your liking. The factory ā€œsubā€ peters out below about 40Hz and is the easiest bang for the buck upgrade.

As stated above, the DSP that has been applied is tailored to the OEM B&O speakers and MME interior characteristics. However, that doesn’t mean a good set of 2 or 3-way direct fit speakers couldn’t improve the sound via improved frequency response and imaging.

Regarding the Bose comparisons - yeah Bose is just marketing BS mostly. Catchy terms like acoustimass, direct reflecting, stereo everywhere etc. cannot hide the fact that Bose uses inferior paper cone tweeters rather than domes and that their sorry bandpass ā€œsubsā€ usually struggle with any bass below 45-50Hz. ā€œNo highs, no lows, gotta be Boseā€ is what we used to say.

IMHO, it's fine for a stock system. The only part I find underwhelming is the bass but that's true for almost every factory system.
