I have an idea ?

The premise is if one of the cars being built is asking for confirmation to activate then it must be an error, if a whole batch is asking for confirmation it must be something going on and the assembly workers may accept the activation confirm

So what if, we as a whole build group, pick a date/time and during that time all hit activate simultaneously. A thousand cars will have a confirm screen, more likely they will start confirming the activations

Thoughts?

did you try to pull the window sticker? your VIN should be in one of the emails ford sent you.

Not going to work. you'll get an error on your screen to activate it once car is delivered. it will not bottle neck their system to confirm anything

I've combed through the three emails I've received from Ford - the order confirmation, original build date announcement (10/31), and then the updated build date email (11/7) and there is no VIN and no link to a place with a VIN.

No tear sheet yet, but got a ton of modules today. All my modules are under “BCE,” nothing yet under “PCM.”

do you have this email? i then got 2 more emails saying the build date had changed.

Found it! No idea how I missed it. Thanks for helping me.

Went to the order tracking site, put in my order number and my VIN...and it's telling me invalid order number. Very strange. Waiting for dealership to call me back to confirm the order number. Has anyone else had this issue?

@SeattleMach the order number is a 4 digit number that appears on the window sticker near the bottom. the order number generated by the web ordering process is a completely different number (way to go, ford!)

you can pull the window sticker by using this link:

https://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin=XXXXX

just replace the Xs with your VIN from the email. if you manage to get it, there's a box near the bottom that says ITEM #: xx-yyyy - the yyyy is the order number the tracking website is looking for.

having said that my car is supposed to be built this week and the order tracker does not find anything currently.

Still no modules or any indication the build process has started. Dealer said our build date is 11/11 -- seems to be accurate so far

@SeattleMach i've got 978/1419 and no sign of anything, no modules either. you can punch your VIN in on this site: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt and it will show you how many modules have been activated... i think these must be different computers, etc. within the car.
