So the day has finally arrived where my 2022 Mach E GT has arrived at the dealership and they are asking me to come in to pick up it. Before I do i just wanted to get some information on people's experience picking up their mach E. I order it online and I want to make sure they dont surprise me with any extra charges or what not. So wanted to get some in sight on people's experience and things i should know before picking the vehicle today

Thanks!

Bring the signed paperwork you did after the order (assuming your dealer followed protocols). Our processed our online order and then we came in to sign a workup that showed MSRP, TTL, etc and the grand total. With that it should be stress free. You already have the numbers.

We basically ordered the car on the ford website at the dealership. Selected all the options. Printed out that paper with the MSRP and options selected for the vehicle. I also just signed the paper with my signature and have a receipt for the $500 reservation. Is this it?

Hopefully, as mentioned, you have an executed order agreement. If you do not then you won’t know what shenanigans (or none) that may take place until you show up. Perhaps if you mention your dealer their may be some others who have experience purchasing thru them. You are also able to finance at the rate existing when you ordered or current rate. Also look into Ford Options if you have not yet decided on how you are financing the purchase (unless paying cash of course.)

You may have no issues.

However, you signed a piece of paper. They didn't. Therefore, they COULD play games. Southern California dealers apparently are notorious for it.

The dealer is Bob Wonderies in Alhambra, CA
The initially sales did try to play mark ups on the vehicle that is ordered online saying I have to pay extra for these additional fees. Thankfully I spoke with the manager and was able to get another salesman. Hopefully everything goes smoothly because the paper only has the Total MSRP

It totallly depends on the dealer. I ordered mine on Ford’s site and did not get a signed purchase agreement (which I now know I should have done). No shenanigans at my dealer and even though mine was their first MME Options Financing, they got me in and out pretty quickly. ?‍♂?

Bob Wondries Ford - has not been nice with on lot vehicle pricing, but then who is in that area of SGV.

As for your ordered vehicle, as long as the price matches the Ford.com order page total - that's all that matters.

Make sure your sales person actually activates Ford Pass app on your phone with the vehicle before you leave.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you have your finances ready to go.

Do NOT rely on the dealer to give you a good rate.

Always have your financing in your pocket.

My Lightning dealer offered 6.99% in July - said it's the best.
Pulled out my pre-approved 3.49% for 84 months from my CU and said that's the best.
Almost got my deposit without mention so I had to pull out the screen print to deduct from the total.

Also check if the $750 CCFR rebate is available when you pick up!

And if they want you to fill out the HOV sticker forms - make sure you hand them a $22 check to DMV.

For financing, should I look into it with bank I have accounts on?

Ford Options (which is a loan not a lease with a balloon payment after 3 or 4 years - your choice) is generally the best financing around, especially since it includes a rebate from Ford. (I believe it is $2000 at this time, but it might be $2500 since you presumably ordered your GT a long time ago.) The rate for the GT is also very good. (It was 1.9% hack in March when I bought mine.) The dealership can add on the the finance interest rate, but you may be able to talk them out of doing so if they try.

Note that if you do an actual Ford Lease, they will not let you buy the car at the end of the lease.

Don't let the dealership force extras on you such as window tinting, clear coat, etc. You didn't order those. The challenge is that the dealership has all the power here since they know without a doubt they can sell the car to someone else with a substantial markup if you don't take it. So negotiating with them can be challenging.

Lastly: be certain to read everything. Don't take the sales or finance person's word on anything. Read. If it isn't in writing, it isn't happening. Conversely, if it is in writing, then those are the terms and they will apply.

Last lastly: be certain to go to the dealership today. Don't let them sell the car out from under you! It's happened to others (at other dealerships).

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I will definitely let you guys know what the outcome is. Will be going in a couple of hours and i am for sure not going to get those extras. I am planning to finance with a hefty down to lower my monthly cost

Great. There is a maximum that can be used as a down payment for Ford Options, but the lower financing interest rate and the rebate generally make it worth it. Additionally you can pay off the loan early (I paid mine almost immediately) and either refinance (if you find a better rather elsewhere), or just take the rebate and "run". ?

Be sure to read up on Ford Options now to be familiar with it. It is only for the F-150 Lightning and the Mach E, so a lot of dealers aren't super familiar with it... If they don't know how to do the deal, ask them to call their Ford rep and they will talk them through it.

Yes, that's the whole point of doing Ford Options instead of a traditional lease: the ability to claim the $7500 federal tax credit. You might qualify for the Clean Vehicle Rebate Program if you make under a certain amount. CVRP is separate from the Clean Fuel Vehicle Rebate, which must be applied for at the time of purchase. CVRP can be done within 90 days of the purchase of the car.
