What made you choose an extended range, all-wheel-drive, or both?

I'm on the verge of ordering a Premium Mach-E but having a hard time deciding which version to get. I drive very few miles each day but will want to take my wife on some day trips after I get the car. Thanks!

I had a SR before and it was barely enough range between charges to go through a 350 mile one way trip when it was cold, rain and hill. SR RWD was fast enough to surprise ICE. It was fun to drive. Then I had my chance to go for an AWD ER. It is way faster and more stable than RWD. It is worth it to spend extra for a car that is faster and safer unless $10k(ish) can do better things for you. Insurance premium is about $25 more per month for a car that is safer (and faster).

How far are you planning for the day trips? If less than 200 miles standard battery is enough. I chose standard range as it is enough for my needs 99.9 percent of the time. Awd as I live in NE

Depends on what you want. We have had our RWD SR setup for almost 2 years and have never really had a range issue. It would be more a concern if we could not charge at home and had to deal with going to a charger.

If you can find a MY22 AWD ER, the price will be $9k lower than MY23. With TX car sales tax and $7500 full tax credit, saving will be in the vicinity of $17k.

Had a RWD SR and range is fine for a city only commuter but not good enough for a weekend trip into areas with poor charging coverage (in 5-10 years with chargers everywhere then sub 200 mile cars would be fine).

ER or bust for me.

0 to 60 times. The GT was an even longer wait. So Premium AWD ER because 0 to 60. :)

SR RWD in SoCal. Bought my 21 Select when I happen to find it on a dealer lot and it was the only one they had there. Didn't really need AWD for anything. However, whenever I speak to anybody that asks me about EVs, I always recommend extended range batteries. I have a relatively short commute and I charge at home, but I wish I had the extended range for day trips or driving a bit further.

I tend to keep my cars for ~10 years, I picked the extended range (though technically the GT) figuring that after that much battery life degradation I'd still be able to make it the 200 miles from Seattle to Portland in one go. Didn't factor in cold weather but that's what the gas car is sticking around for ;)

SR AWD here. I wanted acceleration, I live in Nor Cal, so charging infrastructure isn’t really much of a problem. Temperature related range reduction is more of a minor annoyance during the winter, but I gotta say, I would prefer to not pay 7k more for more range. Depends on your circumstances.

Premium AWD ER for me. We live in the PNW and it can get cold in the winter regionally (20s-40s F for a few months). Daily commute is ~70 miles, but we sometimes take extended regional and longer trips and wanted the flexibility of the ER battery.
