Sequence 2 is me not having the USB drive handy and having to cancel and get the USB drive for attempt #2 in sequence 3.

So...
18 minutes for the first GWM update
1:46 minutes for the APIM update
14 minutes for the second GWM update

Thanks. I’ll have a go at this tomorrow.

As pretty as the animation is, do you want to wait an extra 5 seconds for it?
I don’t wait 5 seconds in my car right now. When I get in the car the glowing line is going around. When I press the start button it’s 2 seconds before sync comes up. It takes sync a minute to get its kind together, but that’s a problem with the way sync is coded. It should never shutdown just like your phone doesn’t shut down.

To answer your question though, yes it’s worth 5 seconds to me.

So I can report that the profile bug is NOT fixed.

I got in the car today and the guest profile was selected. I could not change to my profile using the 1 button on the door or by selecting my profile from sync.

I had to reboot sync.
You should do a master reset after updating, start with a clean slate. That may help.

Yeah, but why?
So that whichever owner pulled the remote start trigger they'd have to chose their profile once they got into the car? If more than one user in the household had FP and could remote start the car, the car may not know which driver it was? I don't know really. I'm the only one in my household who uses FP so I'm just spitballin' here....

So happy accident today at Ford. I took my '22 Mach e GT in on Wed because there was no way to schedule updates (posted about it before) and it was stuck pending updates. It had been like that since I got it in October. They said they fixed it. When I got in I was surprised with the new Sync!!!!!

It seems so much quicker and less cartooney. I can't wait to mess around with it. I guess driving around in an EcoSport loaner for the last few days was worth it!!

EDIT:
Quick Video of the differences I noticed.
any chance it shows kW when charging?

If that is the fix, that is excessive as hell.

There is no way I am going to set up PAAK for three people, three backup start codes, new door pillar codes, redo all the radio presets, etc, etc, etc after every update.

Probably didn’t mean after every update… This is the largest interface update since the car has been out on the roads and I’m sure a clean slate would definitely help.

Profiles are definitely still broken.

Got in the car to go to dinner. My profile pic showed up, CarPlay connected, put the car in reverse, and as I was backing out of the garage the profile switched to guest and once again won’t change using sync or the door buttons.

OK, well you might have to live with the profile issues then. It's not unreasonable to expect a master reset may be required after major upgrades every year or two. Sometimes a clean install is the only way to solve issues. Ford is not going to have perfect upgrade paths like Google or Apple.

I am 99.99% sure that a master reset would be a waste of time and energy and would not solve the problem.

I’ll let others waste their time.
