Our big traction batteries have their capacity "ends" blocked off... about 20+ % on the low end and on the high end.

This means that what we see, from 0% to 100%, is actually the center section of the total battery capacity.

This is by design to protect the function of the battery.

So, go ahead and charge on long trips. Although it will affect the eventual capacity of the battery, the degradation will be so incrementally slow as to likely not matter in practical terms.

It's OK to charge to 100%.

Charging to 100% and letting your car sit for a week would not be recommended. Charging to 100% and using your vehicle the same day will not materially affect your battery life. It's generally leaving the vehicle charged near 100% for long periods of time that (slightly) degrades battery life.

I recommend you go to owner.ford.com and download a PDF of the owner's manual to all your devices. This, and many other things, are explained in there.

I do the same.

100% once a week on L2 at home is safe as my daily commuting is less than 25 miles.

Public DCFC (L3) I stop at 90% unless I am on a road trip where 100% is what I charge to.

The manual recommends daily L2 charging to 90%, and limiting DCFC.

I charge to 90% every day
As do I and sometimes 100% on Fridays before a busy weekend if Saturday involves a trip to see family. MME life is good.

20+% ? I don't think it's that much. I think it's closer to about 9% total.
I thought 99 kW with 91 kW (92%) usable (up from 88 kW usable at launch)? For the ER at least (need to be clear about that). But the % probably applies to all pack sizes.

My home charge schedule is set to stop at 90%. When we go on a long road trip (which we do every 1-2 months), I just turn Charging Locations OFF so it charges to 100% (on L2).

For DCFC stops, we normally just charge to a minimum of 80% each stop (regardless of the distance to the next planned DCFC). If it's a stretch to the next charge, I'll just go as high as I need with no concern. The DCFC rate slows down to protect the battery as it approaches 100% anyway. There's a few regular places we DCFC to 100% for the next day (hotel night).
