My appointment to pick up the car is in an hour so I printed out an outline of the data to bring with me. Might be a frustrating talk with the service department, and will probably end with me not walking out with the keys. If I have to leave with a rental car maybe I can see if they have a few Lightnings laying around.

Just refreshed the FDRS cache and your update list is still close to what it was.
Not showing any activity of note under your vin either.
This is so fun…

Came out to the car this morning and was immobilized again. Called ford to confirm case was still open and report the issue has returned. This time, the rep was able to validate that they were seeing entries from my vehicle reporting to their portal. Called a different local dealership and they confirmed seeing issues as well. Got a tow and the dealership called asking to confirm the vehicle was actually undrivable this morning because their mechanic was just able to drive it. I confirmed and let them know this is the second time it’s happened in a week so something is definitely broken.

Luckily this service department seems eager to help and will actually scan/reprogram. Fingers crossed that they can fix it for me.

You need to get that GWM (gateway) module updated before things will start happening for you. When your car was in on the 17th they had problems updating your gateway and it is very much one of the modules involved with OTAs. It did not get updated when the car was in the shop on the 17th and you still have that update showing in your list:

I would call the service advisor and ask them to explain to you what happened when programming was attempted on the gateway on the 17th. I hope they told you the truth.
You're surprising more up to date than most EU cars

Looks like You've been in a dealer recently

A big thank you for checking this for me!

I have been stuck on updates last one was Oct 22nd 3.5.4. I took it to the dealer for HVAC update but have not received any updates since Oct. I am a Job 1 2021 and was stuck for 8 months in the past before a Ford Tech got me unstuck I am wondering if I am stuck again. MT VIN# 3FMTK3SU7MMA36937 I would appreciate anyone who can look it up and see what the issue is. Thank you in advance

Hi Mike G.

My car had the gateway pending update thing going on -- the GWM was up-to-date, FDRS went retarded and I made a post about it as FDRS seems to be multi-layered in that there are 2 different layers for FDRS to call home to. It appears ford has some type of data problem. See this post
https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...tain-updates-not-applying-failing-read.25546/

I may or may not go into the office today, er tonight. That's where my FDRS laptop is currently at. When I get there I'll see if I can't force what I refer to as the public facing server to re-sync w/ the master server in the case your GWM is actually up to date. If it is, once that gets cleared your APIM update will then be pending.

A really good place to start would be getting the shop to update that TCU. It's the modem that the car uses to send and receive info to/from Ford. That could definitely be the problem.

Yup....the APIM update you're looking for, and the OBCC update is all there is.

thank you that helps a lot. I wonder if in time it can be updated OTA? My dealer is not very willing or good at dealer with the Mach-e they consider it a burden and a car that should not have been released when it was. To get them to do anything on it that Ford does not require them to do is impossible.

It's possible that the TCU was updated as an OTA since there are at least a couple of instances of that shown in the Wiki.

The problem is your dealer tech needs to diagnose and correct the condition your car has with not being able to receive OTAs. They can't just decide that "we don't do that". It's a warranty concern actually.

thanks, I am not sure if it won't accept OTA or Ford just didn't pass it down to me yet.

9 Apr '21 build date, Job 1 car.

Here's the list of available updates:
WF0TK3SU5MMA27265-17-Jan-23.webp

Here in the US Ford is paying for our cars to get the HVAC update to provide more heat. I would imagine that where you live that would be helpful.

I would ignore the powertrain updates for the time being (PCM, BECM, SOBDM, SOBDMB, SOBDMC).

If you are not having problems with DC fast charging you can skip the OBCC for now.

The APIM is useful as it often brings additional features.

The BCM and GFM combo would allow you to open your Frunk with the door keypad, or a key fob if you have one with that button.

The DSM is a good update if you are having problems with your seat and mirrors not adjusting to the proper profile for the current driver. Can be free, if you say you have this as a concern.

The GSM update is for those cars where an error is showing in the system (ask your tech). If there's an error that one should be free.
Hello again Mike. I will be taking my car with WF0TK3SU5MMA27265 to the dealer next Wednesday to carry out updates. Can you check if there are any changes to my list that you gave me on 17 January? I could think of delivering an updated list to the dealer workshop if there are any changes.

Your list has not changed at all. Best of luck with the tech!

And that's why it needs to be investigated. That TCU is overdue.
