Hello all.

Can someone tell me if I have any updates available. Dealer says i'm all up to date but I have received an OTA since May 2022. The updates I did get were at the dealer for recalls but Sync Rev is still at 244.

Vin #3FMTK3SUXMMA05973

Thanks.

Hi Mike,
Took a while but they did some update(s) but still have that FRUNK error message including sound beeps ;-( Even the TSB could not be performed

They said I just need to wait on Ford but I think I am also stuck on somewhere 2.7
As I already had the stuck 1.7 issue were someone from Ford was in my car for a day with a laptop to fix this...

So would you be so kind?

17 Dec '20 build date, Job 1 car.

You are not up to date.

You have a very old version of Sync software ("-EG"), your door modules were never updated from the original software from delivery, ("-AF" should have been updated to "-AH" revision during CSP 21P22) and for some strange reason you have a CMR module update showing as available where normally Job 1 cars with working BlueCruise do not show any cruise control related updates in the available software list.

Also, do you know somebody else who has FDRS? The reason I ask is somebody has been looking up your VIN in FDRS nearly daily (or at least weely) for the last year or so.

Dirk, good morning.

You have only a PCM update in your list this morning.

The Frunk error message is tied to two modules. The GFM and BCM and both have to be updated at the same time. It sounds like when the GFM got updated on the 21st of November they never did the BCM as well. You don't have a BCM update in your list but there is a possibility that first running a "Config" on the BCM to re-download the asbuilt values from the Ford server could correct the issue. And if that doesn't do it they can completely re-program the BCM by doing a PMI procedure on the BCM (and say "No" when asked if the original module is installed).

First:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others WF0TK1E79MMA16117-BCM_Config

And if that doesn't work:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others WF0TK1E79MMA16117-BCM_PMI

To do the PMI and reprogram the BCM:

"Recovering a module when programming has resulted in a blank module
a. Disconnect the VCMII or VCMM from the data link connector (DLC) and your PC.

b. After ten seconds, reconnect the VCMII/VCMM to the DLC and the PC. Launch FDRS.
The VCMII/VCMM icon should turn green in the bottom right corner of the screen. If it does not,
troubleshoot the FDRS to VCM connection.

c. If you are using the same FDRS as the initial programming attempt, select the appropriate VIN from the Vehicle Identification menu. If you are using a different FDRS, select “Read VIN from Vehicle” and proceed through the Network Test.

d. In the Toolbox menu, navigate to the failed module and Download/Run Programmable Module
Installation (PMI). Follow the on-screen prompts. When asked if the original module is installed,
select “No” and continue through the installation application.

e. Once programming has completed, a screen may list additional steps required to complete the programming process. Make sure all applicable steps are followed in order."

Thanks for info. I'll take this back to the CSA and the dealer and see what can be done.

That person is me haha. I have access to Ford's PTS system but it doesn't say what updates are available. Well, at least I haven't found it.

Good morning Mike!

I wasnt able to head to the dealer the last time I asked. But, I'm heading to the dealer next week for 30k and CSP 22B28. Would love to see what I should/could get done while it's there.

Many thanks,

No problem, here's the current list of available updates:

The second dealership was also a fail. They "checked and test drove the car twice" to make sure BC worked and when we drove, it didn't function at all. Also, windshield recall still shows up as not being completed which makes we think they didn't do anything at all with our car.

Can someone help us see what all they did in the last 3 days the car was in the shop?

Thanks, Mike!

I imagine the HVAC update will be taken care of with CSP 22B28. Are there others that will get resolved with that CSP? Am I able to ask for any others under any other CSPs or TSBs? I've been getting the front camera fault, so I'll be asking about TSB 23-2040.

Any thoughts on how to get any of these done at the dealership would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,
Kirk

Serious Mike you are the best.
And it keeps me amazed how bad the dealers in the Netherlands are informed.
This is not the first dealer my car has been to and the all just do not have the necessary intell on the Mach-e.

Actually when I told to to repragram (as the TSB said) they did not know how or ever heard of the option.
I definity will bring this to there attention and will keep you posted just out of information fun ;-)

Thanks again for you time and effort and hope you have a great day.

They did do a bunch of updates on your car. You have no available updates as of this moment.

They did a lot of research on BlueCruise operation as well as OTAs. It's clear they were actively working on issues you brought to their attention.

It's not clear to me if you're concerned that your windshield recall was not completed? Or is it that ETIS still says you need to have that done...but you think you already had that done. I'm not clear on that point.

Mike G thanks again for providing the information. I'm glad to know they knocked out the updates. I went in with the main intent of getting BC running and having the windshield recall knocked out. BC is still not working and the recall still shows up on the Ford app and ETIS. From looking at the vehicle once we received it, I would of assumed the space/groove where the glass sits would of been clean from just being replaced (glass was also as dirtyas we had dropped itoff ). The service guy mentioned something about only needing some data update which was a bit off. The paperwork states a recall was done so it's a confusing situation. But thanks again for the info.

Okay...well the service bill should have listed all the labor hours required to R/R the windshield as well as the sealant, etc. It shouldn't be that hard to see evidence that the glass work was done. Some dealers outsource the glass work (based on the TSB procedures) to a company like Safelite because they have no in-house body shop or "glass-guy". But still there should be some paperwork showing what was done. One of the things I've seen happen with contractor glass folks doing the recall is the cameras not being aligned after the remove and replace, because they (the glass company) either didn't do it, or didn't do it correctly. And that can lead to BC not working properly. Just a thought.

Hi Mike,

Just wondering if the dealer got me right up to 4.1.3? I was there because my APIM update for the new SYNC continually failed to download. They were able to get me the new UI, but the service advisor couldn't tell me if they installed the GWM that comes after. Interestingly they used TSB 22-2226 to get paid.
3FMTK3SSXMMA50149
I also had my wife's Explorer in and they told me they did an update as well. Would it be too much to check her vehicle as well?

Thanks so much,
Mark

You did get the Post-Sync 640 GWM update to "-LAE" that you're looking for and have no available updates in your list.

As for your wife's Explorer..yeah they did an IMPB update. And that's it.

They apparently like you better.

Check out her list of availables...yikes!
