anyone know why i can't get it to work? when i ask google to "ask fordpass to start my car" it says "got it, first here are some details about how google shares info with other devices" and the buttons available are "search" and "about my location", clicking either doesn't make the message go away....

hmmm... it appears so. I don't know if this functionality was recently extended to the Mach-E but the Youtube video posted above was published 2 years ago. ?‍

I set it up back in 2021 and played with it some. But it always promted for the PIN every time. That 2nd step made it not any more convenient than just using the phone app, so I quit using it.

No, I just left it in place just in case I want to use it again.

But for the fun of it, I just tried asking for the Battery%, and it said Google has been logged out of FordPass.

If you decide to log it back in, most actions won't prompt for your pin. But yes, if you ask it to start the car it still needs a pin.

My workaround for that is to use Google Action Blocks which lets me put custom scripted interaction shortcuts on my home screen like this:

The start action is "ask Ford pass to start my vehicle with pin 9876."

You can make a routine and manually set it to send it the pin. You'd need a phrase to kick that routine off.

FYI, routines don't work with watches, although I'd imagine you can bypass that with something like Tasker for those who like to tinker.

@macchiaz-o & @ThatGuyLando ...Thanks for the suggestion to make a routine. I made a routine within the Google Home app that now works on all of my speakers. I simply say, "Ok Google, start the mustang" and it connects to Ford pass and tells it my pin automatically. Very cool. Now this seems to work across all of my devicee with Google assistant. ?
