Thank you so much @Meedo

@Mike G - question for ya! Do you think the GWM will come OTA or do I need the dealer to update that one to release whatever is next?

Thank you both!
Kirk
So this GWM update for you would be the OTA 4.1.1 if I'm guessing correctly. (You're on Sync 539 possibly by the look of it?)

And yes, you won't get the OTA 4.1.2 update that is the APIM update to the new Sync UI (Sync 640) until that GWM update happens.

And then after that you should expect 4.1.3 which is another gateway update and then eventually 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 (which seems to be a "housekeeping " re-issue of 4.1.2 for whatever reason). that is the normal progression but some have had different experiences.

Now as to whether you actually get these as OTAs kindof depends on your car really. It looks like there's a GWM software update available to you in FDRS...one would think the same GWM update is being offered to your car as an OTA. And 4.1.1 has been out in the wild for quite some time. So I'd check the software update schedule in your car and make sure it's set to check about 15 minutes into your morning drive where you have good AT&T coverage (like driving to work on a commute?). That's your best chance of catching these updates, while you're rolling. Look for the little download icon at the top of your screen when you get where you're going and select "Update Now" if you're given the option.

If that doesn't work it's FDRS time ......

Wondering if the APIM for 4.2.2 is available?
You have no updates today...but specifically addressing your 4.2.2 comment...I don't think 4.2.2's APIM update is ever gonna appear in FDRS. It's a re-issue of 4.1.2 and if you have the new Sync UI already the only way you'll see this update is if your car downloads it as an OTA. It doesn't appear to change anything at all from 4.1.2, and the notes basically say it was released for 'housekeeping' reasons.

Call your service advisor and ask them to pull up your VIN in PTS and the OTA Dashboard and see if it's pending for you. That's your best bet.

EDIT: Apparently I was incorrect. Some members have reported this APIM update in their lists and it is indeed Sync 713.

Thanks Mike G - this answers my question as well.

Went in for 20k servicing with v 3.6.2 and returned with 4.2.1 but the SYNC screen does not show any changes. Software version currently says 22228 revision 539

thanks in advance!

Okay....so not sure about this......

The only programming that was done on your car was PATS for a new keyfob.

You still have the "-HKD" revision of the gateway (GWM) and that is consistent with still having the same Sync 539 "..676-DT" revision on your APIM.

Again, not sure what you were told but nothing much happened while the car was in the shop...as you can see by this list of updates that are still available (including a a GWM):

I'm not seeing where he has the "-LKA" gateway revision...he's still on "-HKD" which is a "pre-Sync Update" revision.

To be clear:

4.1.1 begat "-LAD" revision of the gateway.
4.1.3 begat "-LAE" revision of the gateway
4.2.1 begat "-LKA" revision of the gateway.

Hi,
I have the 4.2.1 update message in the "software updates" section of the SYNC. Essentially that screen looks like if I had received 4.2.1 OTA.

Thank you. The shop actually did not claim to have done any updates. I was just surprised to see that message about 4.2.1 in the SYNC screen status. I will give it a few days to see if any OTAs show up to clear this up.

Had the mach-e in for some service, they stated they applied the updates. Could someone run my vin and see if there are any outstanding updates?

Yeh that's OTA then. The shop didn't apply that.

Reports are that it fixes the manual being inaccessible in SYNC. So it changed something.

I wanted to add something here....it is entirely possible that you do have a newer GWM update in your car than what FDRS shows right now. This has happened before with people in this very thread. They get an update notification in FP and in the "Software Updates" screen but FDRS says they still have an older revision of some module software.

It can take like 24hrs or so for a PowerUp to update the cloud server. And if I check your VIN tomorrow it may very well say that you now have the "-LKA" revision of the gateway module software. I hope it does cause that would likely lead to an APIM showing up next for you.
