So this GWM update for you would be the OTA 4.1.1 if I'm guessing correctly. (You're on Sync 539 possibly by the look of it?)
And yes, you won't get the OTA 4.1.2 update that is the APIM update to the new Sync UI (Sync 640) until that GWM update happens.
And then after that you should expect 4.1.3 which is another gateway update and then eventually 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 (which seems to be a "housekeeping " re-issue of 4.1.2 for whatever reason). that is the normal progression but some have had different experiences.
Now as to whether you actually get these as OTAs kindof depends on your car really. It looks like there's a GWM software update available to you in FDRS...one would think the same GWM update is being offered to your car as an OTA. And 4.1.1 has been out in the wild for quite some time. So I'd check the software update schedule in your car and make sure it's set to check about 15 minutes into your morning drive where you have good AT&T coverage (like driving to work on a commute?). That's your best chance of catching these updates, while you're rolling. Look for the little download icon at the top of your screen when you get where you're going and select "Update Now" if you're given the option.
If that doesn't work it's FDRS time ......
