This is how I'd proceed with one caveat....if after programming a module when you're returned to the list and you see a GWM, APIM, or TCU that wasn't there before, do those before you continue on with your list order.

Make sure you reformat your USB 3.0 drive to exFat, default allocation size, every single time before using it on the next USB update, don't leave files from previous updates on it and then add new ones. Reformat first. Keep the name of the drive as short as possible (but definitely under 11 characters!), or just leave the name blank.

On some of these the list order I created take into account that they are "coordinated" updates. like the cruise control ones for example. You start off with the CCM and then FDRS decides which one of those associated updates to do next (CMR, IPMA, PSCM, etc.) so you're just along for the ride at that point. Just click "OK" at the appropriate time and turn on and off the start switch when you're supposed to...you'll get the hang of it in no time.
Wow - incredibly helpful info, thanks!

I installed FDRS and the other software on my laptop but it seems to not have actually been installed even though the installers ran. Maybe resources are insufficient. I am grabbing a higher-horsepower laptop and trying on that one.

I'm grateful for this resource. I haven't had an OTA since January of 2022 (though some trips back to the dealer mean I'm not quite that far behind, though no BlueCruise and I'm missing more than a year of PowerUps). Last fall, Ford said to ask the dealer to install BlueCruise and that might solve it, but the dealer didn't want to and in any case the offer expired. Guess I'll try talking to Ford again, but in the meantime anything I can learn from running my vin would be helpful.

I'm guessing it will just say at this point that everything is out of date. Thank you!

So, interesting history from the session logs. As far back as a year ago a tech tried to update your Sync, months after your gateway (GWM) was replaced, and on two separate occasions the programming update attempts failed and they just quit without doing anything else.

And it looks to me like you've got a version of Sync that is so old you can't even schedule update checks for more than one day a week ("-EG" revision software).

Here's the list of available updates:

I've highlighted the gateway and the Sync module for a reason. Those two should have already updated via OTA by now. The gateway would have been first followed by the APIM (Sync module). I don't have any idea why they haven't updated by now but you certainly have an issue that your service department should fix under warranty. And If they need to call the engineering hotline to get help, then that's what they should do.

And I just re-read your post...BlueCruise updating by the dealer has not expired. It was renewed and expires at the end of this year...however there was a 'pause' put on doing the updates at the dealer around the holidays due to some technical issues with updating the IPC (instrument panel module), but I would hope that is resolved by now.

Hi folks,

I purchased a 2021 Mach E premium, build date 11/2020 with 12k miles on it Last week from a dealership. Ford website listed 3 CPS's software updates a week ago. now no updates are listed. I called ota technical support this Friday 4/21/23 and they told me no updates have been done on this car in a long time. Car is showing sync 4, version 20312 product revision 243. I have an appointment at my local dealership in 3 weeks to check and update software and do the recalls for Sun roof and windshield.

I was wondering if someone could check to see if this car has any updates available.

VIN. 3FMTK3SU9MMA02210

BIG THANKS in advance, if possible.

Jerry.

Whoever had this car before you did not get to enjoy all of the features.

It has not been in to the shop to have BlueCruise enabled by a tech. And it apparently isn't getting OTAs or all the cruise control related updates (CCM, CMR, IPMA, PSCM) as well as the APIM (Sync) update below would have already happened a long time ago.

I would engage with the service advisor and get a servcie appointment to have them diagnose why you aren't getting OTAs, because I think you're "stuck" and they need to run the "Module Repair" procedure to get you unstuck or replace whatever component is not allowing updates. And while they're in there they can do the BlueCruise update programming under the extension of CSP 21G01 that now expires at the end of this year.

You are awesome!

You have just confirmed my suspicions. Last time I spoke to the OTAs, they told me they're able to talk to the system and there's no errors with communications. But I couldn't understand how none of the updates got completed if that were the fact.

You've also provided me with information I need when I talk to the Ford service folks.

I appreciate what you've done to help me out. Thank you so much.

In your debt, Jerry

Post again when you get the car all fixed and what the dealer did to fix it. Always interesting for other owners who need help too and can see there’s a way.

I'm sure the service advisor will be interested to know that you're having issues with PAAK not always working correctly or your phone not connecting to the car sometimes. And don't forget to tell them about that time when it was really cold and you had to keep changing the HVAC settings because the windshield was fogging up. At any rate they should be able to knock this list out in an hour of solid programming.

You're in pretty good shape. Here's the list:

So you've got the powertrain (PCM and SOBDM), the doors, the HVAC update (that actually is also reported to be OTA 4.2.5 if you get those), the RFA to improve connectivity issues you may be having with your phone/PAAK and the HCM which seems to apply to 80% of the cars I've checked but there's no info so far on what it's for (at least not that I'm aware of down here in the trenches).

You're currently on "-AH" and as of today, at this minute, "-AM" is what all the kewl kids are down with.

The dealer that did my 21P22 update failed to do my door modules, so waiting until Ford is happy with the revision before going back.
