Wow, I’m amazed to see this. I’ll be going in for a replacement. Now that my J1 ‘21 is caught up fully on OTAs this is my last complaint.

Uh, last production week of 22 and it does that, haven't we reported here that they all do that? GTs included?
Mine was also built the last production week for the ‘22 model year and the buzzing sound is worse than an early ‘22 build I had. I hope they are just starting with the early models and extend this to all affected cars.

@Gimme_my_MME said a software update is coming to fully eliminate it.

This is great, I had just got my dealer to authorize it without the SSM a few weeks ago for me, I am going in on Monday!
Will be looking out for your thoughts after getting it replaced. Earliest I could get in for a service visit is July.

What's the status of your IPC replacement?

What's the status of your IPC replacement?
My Mach-E went into the dealership on Monday afternoon. They estimated maybe about a week. I had a number of issues that I had saved up for this dealership visit (the headlamp issue, BlueCruise still not working for me, a problem with the sound on phone calls, and a clicking sound my front doors are making when opening, in addition to the IPC replacement), so it may not take as long as with other people.

I will definitely post updates when I get them in terms of how it sounds, whether everything is working right, and if there is any damage from the disassembly/reassembly of the dash. Fingers crossed, no issues!

Good luck with all the repairs! Did they provide a rental, I hope?

I'm particularly interested in this clicking noise. My driver door does that ever since I had the car at the dealer for an unrelated repair. So I'm curious to what happened and how your dealer fixes it.

Thank you. They did not provide a rental, it honestly didn't occur to me. But that's OK, I have a second car, my 2006 Mustang GT that I am happy to drive over what the likely rentals would have been.

Both my driver and front passenger door make this clicking noise, but it is a bit more pronounced on the driver side. I should have recorded it, it only happens once the door is fully extended when it sort of rocks back and forth on that last setting/gear (not sure what to refer to it as). It sounds like clicking your tongue.

The first time I raised it to the dealer, they tried applying lithium grease, but it made no difference. This time, I think they are going to replace the joint, or at least the main screw holding the front doors to the car. I think they said they thought that the joint or the screw was flexing when the door was fully extending causing the noise.

It crossed my mind that perhaps it was user error on my end, like if I threw the door open too hard or if it got caught in a strong wind. But I don't recall that happening and even if I one day did open the door too strongly, it wouldn't make sense that both doors do it.

By comparison, my 75,000 mile 2006 Mustang, being a coupe, has massive doors and I have owned that car for 17 years and those doors don't make any noise at all, so it seems to me something is wrong with my Mach-E for the doors to be making that much noise after 2 years and 14,000 miles.

Yeah I agree.

My driver door was silent, too, until a service mechanic did something to it. Now it has a clicking sound similar to what you described except it's audible while closing and more pronounced while opening, and it's at various points of travel not just fully extended.

Like your theory, I'm thinking they swung it open too hard but I don't know. I didn't notice the clicking until I brought it back home and then figured it'd be a blame game so I didn't bring it up.

What constitutes an exceptionally loud IPC? Should we hear nothing at all?

My 2021 definitely buzzes, but it is not so loud that I notice it every drive or that my music doesn't cover it up. If every IPC will still buzz as the OP states, I don't want it to be replaced with a MORE noisy IPC.

If you can hear it while seated in a normal driving position (head back) with the radio off. Mine I can only hear over the steering motor noise if I lean forward. Depends how good your hearing is but you shouldn't notice it while driving.

So does this mean that a replacement IPC and the work, is now covered under warranty?
My stupid Swedish dealer is not very cooperative.
