2 1/2 years of using 1PD exclusively. While I know it's not for everyone, I find it more relaxing to drive this way.

To quickly activate-deactivate 1 PD, assuming you don't otherwise need 3 profiles, you can use them and have one set with and one without 1PD activated. It'll change while driving.

I agree with what others have said. Full time 1PD user here and no going back. Got a "1PD Service Fault" today for the first time (cleared after an on-off cycle) but it was really odd being forced to drive without it!

I did that for car washes too, have a profile with auto hold and rainsensing wipers off (on my 21 also turned off foot to open back too)

oh. A profile to do that? That's a good idea.

related: I use seat memory button 3 to dip my right mirror when I reverse.

At first I had a lot of anxiety because I would move my foot to readjust while on the freeway and then the car would think I was letting off the throttle and brake hard. But I got used to it and also started using the cruise control.

I think it does require a little touch driving it---the accelerator isn't an on/off button. It's more like driving a manual transmission where it's just feel.

I find the trickiest part is slowing down smoothly for red lights. It's sort of ease off the throttle, coast, then a little bit back on to crawl to where you want.

Took me a few days to get used to it, now it's all I use. I subconsciously let off at the right time to come to a stop at a stop sign or in traffic or just pulling in the garage. Love it!
It's definitely something you need to turn off when teaching your 13 year olds how to drive though...

Using auto-hold with 1PD is redundant. One pedal behaves the same way with auto-hold on or off. I use 1PD exclusively and have turned auto-hold off so I won’t forget that it’s on when I go to the car wash. In 1PD, the car will come to a stop and stay there with your foot off the pedal just like it does in auto-hold and 1PD off. You still have to press the accelerator to move the car again once it stops, in either reverse or drive.

I too have a downslope driveway with a dip. Sometimes I stop during backing. Just have to press the pedal again to get moving back again.

Sorry, I can't get used to 1PD.

Had it in my Lightning but never used it - very abrupt braking when jumping off the accelerator and onto brakes.

Felt like I was a first time student driver learning how to drive a stick or very drunk.

Mach E is a bit less aggressive but still lurches.

Driving in urban Los Angeles with drivers cutting in front is not conducive for this drive mode.

With other vehicles I drive at home and work, 1PD is too foreign for me and muscle memory will introduce some weird emergency action...

I just leave mine in unbridled or engaged modes w/ regen.

Yeah from now on when I turn on 1PD I will turn off auto hold, makes sense.

Most reasons people hate and dislike the 1 pedal is because some have control issues, or they don't have confidence in the system stopping for them and/or just want to brake themselves or some just simply have terrible depth perception and it makes them feel inadequate LOL It's not always these but from what I've found majority of the customers that complain about it have told me this.

I find 1 pedal great. Llike Lynsey said, I like to make it a game to either see exactly how precise I can get to a spot on the road by letting off the "gas" pedal or by seeing how long I can go without touching the actual brake pedal.

I'm not saying anyone experiencing difficulty using it and/or a higher learning curve or other dislike using it is is wrong/incorrect. It's just interesting how some people take to it easily and others struggle and I wonder what that difference is.
I think there's a high correlation to experience driving a stick. I never had a car with an automatic transmission, and took to 1PD right away. Felt so much more natural. I think going 3 pedals to 1 is easier than going from 2 to 1.

It would be nice if reverse behaved a bit better. The total free-roll when you switch from R to D is unnerving if you haven't quite stopped or are on an incline.

Rented a Tesla M3 on a trip to Tucson and after watching hours of YouTube videos, decided to use 1PD from the beginning. Took a bit to get used to it, but loved it and now I don’t even think about it. It’s just on all the time. My partner, though, won’t touch it. LOL

So I've had my MME 4 months now. I've tried 1PD on and off but usually just turn it back off, but am learning in traffic it's very useful, and I have slowly come around to appreciating it more and more. Two things I wish; 1) that there was a 1PD button like lane assist that could be easily turned on and off on demand, and 2) that you could turn off 1PD in reverse. My garage has a large lip, and when it hits the lip, the vehicle does a free roll down the lip and I have to hit the brakes to stop it, but then it doesn't go anymore unless I hit the accelerator, so I always have to turn it off before pulling out of the garage. But also in reverse I just find it so awkward. I know it's probably just me and something I need to get used to ?
I use 1 pedal drive all the time and love it. You should consider backing into your garage. My garage faces an alley with a steep and short driveway. I back in for safety of people that may be in my alley and once you get used to it, it saves you time as it will always be easier to safely back in your garage over backing out (even If you don’t have an alley). Then when you leave your garage with one pedal drive, you won’t have any issues with the car rolling faster than you want.

The problem I see with getting used to, and relying on 1PD, is if you have a loaner or rental without and you just coast into the rear of the vehicle in front of you expecting 1PD to save you ? jk

Reminds me of my backup camera. I don't even remember the last vehicle I owned that didn't have have one. Had to rent a vehicle one time and it was without. I started backing out of a space just staring at the radio before I realized there was nothing there ?
