All this talk about increasing HP on the GT/PE models - how about increasing some for those of us who thought 290HP (RWD) was enough? ? I guess at some point we'll be traction-limited, but it'd sure be nice to get a few more torques and HPs for us single-motor folks.

0-60, skidpad, braking…… it is.

As long as you consider the Lamborghini Urus a super car.
Bingo. I'll consider the MME GT to be a true Super Sports SUV (like the Urus) once the 5 second limit is lifted. The MME has the opportunity to truly be the everyday man's Urus / Purosangue! ?

It's unlikely they'll be able to change that because they use the same technology in their lower performing cars with smaller motors and they haven't beefed up anything related to the power requirements of the larger motors. Along with the fact of the battery company probably made them do that in order to maintain a warranty it will be unlikely that vehicles will be able to have a performance enhancement out this is is that the drivetrain and everything is the same except for the motors they give you a quick burst of power at five seconds cut you off so you're driving basically a standard Mach E . We were all fool with their marketing shame on us.

You guys are like the spouse that was cheated on. Ford comes back, making promises to do better, you all buy it hook line and sinker. Just being set up to be disappointed again. When will you all learn.
It's different this time!

PE owners have already paid the premium. Now a $3k package for base GT makes sense.
We paid for 480hp, but I honestly would pay a few grand more to unlock the full 562hp.

Kinda like how I paid for performance upgrades on every car I’ve owned.

hasn't been my experience in over two years. The only thing I wasn't happy about was getting only one key fob, low and behold some months later, ford provided second key fobs to early owners.
That's because the screwed you over with the frunk button, HVBJB timebomb, Flaky PAAK. etc. But all is forgiven when Ford brings home some day old flowers (Key fob).

well I guess I'll just enjoy til all these things happen, twenty six months and counting not a hint of a problem so far. Frunk button? Who really cares, opened it once when I first got it, haven't touched it since.

The only thing even if some relevance to your argument is the frunk button.

And again, most of us got it and it’s “still coming” for those who didn’t.

Screwed us over? That’s a bit extreme.

If anything, you’re missing the one obvious thing where they DID screw us over, but now are hopefully making it right……the 5 sec limit.

So if they’re fixing the one thing I really care about……… I’m happy!

I’m also cautiously optimistic, but skeptical until we see what the actual fix is.

The battery warranty thing is explicitly called out in the interview with Palmer. He says they’ve done testing to increase the performance while making sure they can still back up the 8 year battery warranty.

They're going to be able to tweak things for a performance upgrade. The question is whether they'll follow through and deliver those tweaks to GT cars. It's not like they haven't dropped the ball on various items before. What I don't think they'll be able to do given the other constraints, such as cooling, is to drop the 5-second wall altogether.

I don’t think anyone is expecting the limit to be completely lifted.

I certainly wouldn’t complain though!

That said, everyone assumes the cooling is insufficient. We don’t know. What was insufficient was the lack on temp sensors to know if the cooling was sufficient or not.

So we got the 5 sec limit.

Now, due to lack of sensors, Ford had to tweak and test, tweak and test. We will find out soon what the car can (safely) handle.

No doubt there will still be a safety margin. But that margin may be the 480 hp vs the 562 hp the car is capable of. Manufacturers never seem to push the power to the REAL limit. That’s why the aftermarket exists.

As for the doubters that anything will get better here: wait and see.

Listen, the Achilles heel of the GTPE was Ford being overly cautious with the time/pedal mapping based limiting of power. If it was to collect more data, and they think that the machine can deliver full power longer now, great, can’t wait to see what it means. There are even some inklings that there might even be an increase of torque.

I am cautiously optimistic, but I did say that Ford could win me back if they reduce the limiting, so I hope they do. The GTPE is a great car, it just could do more, I’m glad that Darren has gone on record responding to the criticism of the car and stated that they are doing something about it, because up to this point, Ford hasn’t even acknowledged that the GTPE lacks performance characteristics that have been widely noted.

Mr Palmer, if you are reading this thread, please consider 10 seconds as the new number. I have a 2023 GTPE after owning a 2021 Premium Extended Range. Totally improved! My request as mentioned previously is an action that is competitively-based. My friend just bought a 2023 GV70 Electrified. His 0-60 with the 10 second Boost button pushed is 3.8. Mine is 3.5. Perfect. BUT his Quarter Mile number is 12.2, mine 12.6. Would 10 seconds give me a 12.2? Let's give it a go! Thank you, and Mr Farley, for believing and implementing a super car with 4-doors for us regular folk.
