All I know is I intend to wait as long as possible just in case any “improved” part shows up in the next several months. Most likely not or as others have stated they would recall every model and not the pre May 22 builds only. This was not something I was worried about but I am glad Ford is finally doing it as a recall.

I wasn't trying to be snarky. I actually though you were pointing out that since the notice said it only applies to the extended range and GT models you ran your VIN and could confirm it was not showing on the website.
Tone is hard to parse on the internet. No harm, no foul. ?

My HVBJB was replaced just over a month ago with a refurb/reman part. My VIN shows the pending recall, but if there is no new hard part the recall (whenever it becomes an actual recall, not an advance notice) should not apply if there is an available OTA for the software. Thus, I will take a wait and see approach to this information. ?‍♂?

Of course, perhaps the information they got @heisnuts may have given Ford some direction. If that is the case (unlikely given the short amount of time that has passed), I really would like another new part. ??

If people have multiple replaced contactors with supposed updated parts, I cannot imagine Ford would do a recall with the hardware that is known to repeatedly fail. I tend to think if Ford is coming out with a Mach-E Rally then they know how to fix the problem and they are giving us pre-May 2022 Mach-E's first crack at the final fix.

I see they added the VINs to the Ford Recall search engine. You can run your VIN through Ford's website HERE
Interesting. Mine is on the list even though me HVBJB was replaced just 6 weeks ago. My guess is that Ford's records aren't up to date on that front...

There are also software updates included in the recall, so that may be what you still need. Or there's actually a newer new HVBJB, thanks to @heisnuts !

Not taking anything away from @heisnuts because he did help contribute to diagnostics, but this campaign is not because of Ford being kind. This was forced by NHTSA. The people who we should be thanking are those who spent hours sharing their stories and providing evidence to support their claims to the investigators working the case.

Well, I'm in the recall notice batch (AWD, ER battery, March 2022 manufacture, and my VIN is on the Ford NHTSA recall web site). I'll be glad to exchange my recalled parts when the time comes... with 51 K miles on the odo now, my Mach E will get a new lease on a continued healthy life.

I thought my 1990 BMW 318i was a great car when I got it practically new back in early 1991... yet I like the Mach E much much more. Can't wait :p

Thanks for pointing this out, and reminding us of all those who continued to push NHTSA for a true recall, not an imperfect bandaid. I am very grateful!

Yeah, that’s why I mentioned an OTA package. The prior software recall was available via both FDRS and (later) as an OTA software package. ??

So I have a 2023 Premium SR rear drive.

I guess I'm supposedly safe from this failure ?

Ever since I joined the forum and starting reading, it is in the back of my mind.

I checked and I don't have any recalls.

Thanks for the snarky reply, but that is still supposition. Considering the recall doesn't even exist yet. Just an advanced notice.
Interesting. I didn’t read that as snarky at all.
