I don't care about handling or speed in these cars. The world is full of exceedingly capable vehicles in the hands of people that can't put them to their limit, and even if they can, shouldn't be doing it on public roads. I've done plenty of racing of all varieties, but I don't do it on public roads. My DD EV being better at cornering or being able to get to 60 in 3.4 seconds instead of 4.5 is irrelevant.

The interior of that Cayenne above also doesn't look like anything too spectacular. The F-150 Limited interior also looks similarly good in pictures. What makes a luxury car truly great and not just a name is how all those materials feel and the fit/finish, which you aren't going to get a sense of from a picture.

So if the Macan is going to be great, it needs to offer 250+kW charging with a strong charging curve, at least 300 miles of range (assuming $80k starting), and an interior that actually feels and looks like a performance luxury vehicle. If it can accelerate and handle well, that's definitely a bonus. That's what I would consider a leapfrog, significantly better in the areas that you actually interact with daily.

I believe Porsche can turn out something great. They make the only other EV besides the MME that I truly want, assuming price was no object. If I could get a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo I would never look twice at an MME or any other EV (except maybe an EV truck).

As a Porsche guy I can only imagine the 'nickel and dime' (Read: $500 and $5000) option sheet on this beast. $80k? Sign me up, but thats foot in the door price. Nicely packaged it'll come out well over $100k. Plus AZ no longer giving EV VLT breaks put this a bit further out of my budget. When I sold my last Porsche I put a hold on the monies from it for the next Porsche. Maybe 2025 will be my year.

Just a guess of course but the hood seems shorter than the ICE Macan

I'm sure that it will be a great car that I will never be able to afford (or like the styling). And what's with those pretend exhaust ports on the back?
Haha, designed for vegetarians who like to eat food that looks and tastes like meat ???

The Macan EV and Q6 Etron are both delayed at least another 4 months because of software problems

I expect you will post a thread on the Lucid Gravity when it is revealed in a couple weeks? Personally I am very interested in that reveal.

I understand that delaying production, but are they also delaying the reveal? They’ve been testing prototypes for quite a while now. At least show us what it’ll look like! Same with pricing, performance, etc.

By the time the Macan EV comes out they will have to introduce the 2nd generation .

what a lost opportunity and by then the car is only going to be more expensive

Definitely agree. This was the one new model I was anticipating that could’ve gotten me to trade in.

But now it’s gonna be big $$ and my trade in is trash……. Not gonna do a trade in plus $60-70k to get a Macan EV.
