I just received my car back from the shop a few weeks ago due to the HVBJB failure as well as not receiving OTAs for 18 months. It only took a month to get it back. It received 2 updates (Finally) but appears to be stuck again on 3.5.2 (screenshot attached). I called the OTA support and they say my vehicle is fully updated. It seems wrong given that other vehicles are reporting in the 6 series of OTAs now. Could someone please take a look for my vehicles updates? Am I stuck with this old synch screen layout forever? If you have any advice on what to do next, please let me know.

Here's the rather extensive list of available updates:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others 3FMTK1SS7MMA10681-13-Nov-23

You concerns are valid regarding just how far behind your car is on updates.

A big red flag is the fact that you have both a GWM (gateway) and and APIM (Sync) update in the list at the same time...and because of 'software dependencies' those two are not normally ever seen together in the available software list unless there's a problem.

Your tech should know this. And I believe this is keeping you from getting further Sync updates (and other OTAs, like the door updates, the ACM, OBCC, IPC, and the powertrain updates as well).

Correcting the situation would start with updating the gateway first (which is the network router for the rest of the modules in the car) and then if another gateway update doesn't show up immediately in the list, move on to update the APIM, and then check the list again for any GWM, APIM, or TCU (telematics modem update), until those three no longer show up, at which time the tech could move on to other updates.

But the key to getting other updates to download and process is ensuring that your GWM, APIM, and TCU are up to level so your car will be offered other updates to stay current.

And as far as that "Check Updates" screen showing your last update as 3.5.2.........that's gonna stay that way until another OTA comes along to replace it...but if your car is updated by a tech using FDRS you could get it back completely updated (nothing in the available software list) but it would still show PowerUp 3.5.2 as the latest thing you got. So that screen really isn't an accurate representation of where you are re: software currency.

And if the OTA team told you that you were current...well they were probably only looking at the 'OTA dashboard' from PTS which will 99% of the time tell you that you have no updates available or in processing.....but FDRS available software list will show a more accurate picture of what's going on. Unfortunately only techs see that list....not service advisors. That's why they are usually completely oblivious and tell the customer that there are no updates (from what they see in PTS that's actually the truth as it's shown on their screen).

Get your service advisor to review the FDRS list of available software that your tech has on his FDRS screen to kick off the conversation.

I'd also open a case with Ford on why your car is so behind...so somebody might look into this a bit more for you.

Thanks! This is super helpful. How do I open a case with Ford for them to look into this? My dealer takes a bit of prodding to do anything correctly and I might be on their bad list due to my insistence.

I think you can do that by calling the toll-free number and talking to customer assistance. Call the OTA team back and they should be able to tell you.

OldHero51, FYI I am in Northern Virginia as well and I have FDRS and associated hardware... BLUF let me know if we can meet and update your car (the right way in the right sequence). I am in Arlington. PM me if you are interested... most of this week is clear for me.

I don't see where you've gotten OTA 5.1.1 (based on your current gateway software revision of "-LKB"), but you are only one revision behind on the APIM (Sync), and all those powertrain updates in your list are what OTA 6.6.0 is about (PCM, ABS, SOBDMC, BECM, SOBDM).

The CMR, PSCM, and SCCM are all related to cruise control functions. And the GFM is a Frunk module update.

I've done all of this except the powertrain items. I'm waiting for OTA 6.6.0 to update those for me.

Just so you know (I should have said something earlier), that APIM update is the OTA 6.2.0 that the OTA team has put on pause due to some unintended issues when they rolled it out to a few people. I got that OTA and really haven't noticed anything...but I don't use Alexa or the Ford voice thing anyway...I believe those were the problem areas.

Hello all,
Got the fun message saying I had active CSPs for the HVAC reprogram and stuck cord update. I got a 2 day license for last week and the servers were down of course. Can anyone let me know if FDRS is still showing the logon server being down warning so I don't waste another $50 by chance? Also if that person could also check to see if I have the updates pending, that would be awesome as well. I had the login page up and its still showing down but of course and you can't view the FDRS message board without a license...

Thank you in advance.

I think we are all still having issues logging in. I find that I have to reboot before it will let me in first thing in the morning, but I just leave FDRS open the rest of the day.

I don't know what problem they're having but they've jacked something up. The login page dialog box now asks for an email address instead of the username. But entering an email address doesn't seem to work either, so I flip back to entering my username in that area and sometimes that still doesn't work. That happened this morning as well so I rebooted and then when I went to open FDRS it skipped right to the "New Vehicle" VIN page without ever asking me to log in again....so I'm thinking that it is recognizing the login credentials are valid but something is happening between the login page and opening the home page that's screwing things up.

Thanks Mike. I know on the splash it said to stay logged in if possible but I don't use it that often so I guess I'll wait and keep checking. Thank you again, looks like I do have some updates to run when I can.
