There is Ford Master Tech (dealer's technician) feedback that the HVBJB fails after fast charging scenarios, so this would refute the opinion that this problem is only related to fast driving, or only to ER or GT models.
Which also concurs with what Ford states in the VIN search recall info...

"Until the required part has been installed on your vehicle, Ford recommends avoiding repeated back-to-back wide open pedal accelerations using dc fast charging only when necessary example long trips."

The reality is just drive your car like normal. The only thing that has changed is Ford is going to replace HVBJB’s as soon as they have enough on hand to issue the recall instructions to owners versus waiting for them to eventually fail as they did with the original recall.

After reading these posts I was excited about a recall of HVBJB as it’s a known problematic component. I have a Premium Job 1 July 2021 built Mach-E. So you can imagine my excitement when seeing the Ford notice letter show up in my mailbox this morning. To my great surprise… NOT the recall discussed here. Rather, notice of the ‘Customer Satisfaction Program 23B50’… yet another software update for management of the BCCM (Battery Charger Control Module). With instructions to ensure we allow the full 129 minute update window to complete this OTA. Unfortunately, more ‘lipstick on the pig’ for what we & Ford already know is a problematic component in these EV’s. I couldn’t be more disheartened & disappointed.

You don’t need the letter to get the recall work done. If your vin is included in the recall then just take it to a ford dealer And have it done.

I do not think we can have the work done yet but I may be wrong on that.

But...is that going to be the old part that needs to be replaced by the recall?
No, according to a few discussions on this forum, it’s been the same part since May of 2022 when the issue was fixed.

Plus you only have so long to get it done. Ford pays for a loaner while you get it fixed.
1. Safety Recalls do not expire. In addition, they are generally required to be free for 15 years after the date of the first sale.
2. No, Ford will pay for a single day rental car for the glass recalls and only up to a certain amount.. Ask me how I know. ;) Also, dealers are never required to provided loaners either as a large percentage do not have loaner cars available.

Safety recalls perhaps but TSBs do expire.

I got a 4 day rental when they did my replacement glass. They got Ford to pay for it by submitting a request because there were so many to get done there was a backlog. Also, they don’t have loaners so Ford paid for a rental from Hertz

TSBs and CSPs are not recalls. Safety, Compliance, and Emissions recalls never expire. The glass recall on job 1 2021 cars is a safety recall. The terms are very specific and call for a single day rental. Ford can always be more generous if they so desire. And so far they have so desired, but they don’t have to.

When I took mine in for the glass recalls, the rental reimbursement (no direct billing) was limited to $40 per day and just one day. The cheapest rental was over $80. Then the dealer decided they’re not going to do those recalls any longer (Yes really). So the rental didn’t happen, and I took the car home and it’s never been back for anything. Can’t wait to see how they weasel out of the HVBJB recall. Disadvantage of living on an island. There’s only 1 dealer.

“When the issue was fixed”, I assume you are joking right? Nothing has been fixed, maybe a touch better but they are still failing even today in 23’s. I still don’t think they know how to really fix the part.

I think this all comes down to the dealer. If you happen to have a good dealer that has done these repairs in the past and know how to navigate Ford's ordering system, then the procedure is relatively painless. When I had my HVBJB replaced, Ford reimbursed the dealer 5-6 hours for labor. So theoretically, if a dealer got their stuff in order, they could order the part ahead of time, then schedule you to bring your car in and be done by the end of the day or the next.

FYI, the recall replacement 23S56 has just been removed from many vehicles that have had the HVBJB replaced once already.

This would indicate that vehicles that already had the HVBJB replaced since the first recall will not need another replacement.

Which is great news for those of us that had the repair with the new part already!

You will only need a recall replacement if you are still on the original HVBJB.
I thought they were also releasing new powertrain software, so they'd be replacing the part and updating PCM, etc. to the latest level, but they're sticking with the existing software then? Obviously if you haven't done the software only recall, you'd get the latest, but those that already did it won't? The software is what seems to be the issue with those that have already had it replaced multiple times...

New advanced notice to recall HVBJB in 30,013 Mach-Es
This was the issue they said they fixed 18 months ago with an over the air update. I don’t know anything about batteries but it seemed strange to me that they could fix an issue like this with an OTA. It turns out I was right.
