much like Tesla V3s, you’ll want to up the power filter slider to beyond 150kW to narrow down the list of EVgo stations. You can further see the Pilots under active construction by selecting Coming Soon and seeing if there’s an EVgo logo on the site.

Green River, UT needs an alternative to EA in a bad way. I don’t know if there’s any plans for any new CCS out there or nearby? There’s been some speculation that Tesla is doing some hardware upgrades on V2s to allow compatibility with CCS but no confirmation that’s truly the case (I’ve now read two separate posts where a Tesla owner was talking to a maintenance tech at a station about some cabinet work going on). If true, that would make V2s a lot more relevant to us.
I played with the PS filters to do just that, but it still found a lot of their other stations. I didn't try Coming Soon yet though. I guess it really doesn't matter though if it's Flying J or not, as long as it's viable DCFC. Was more just curious where they're planning. I did see their map but it's one of those without labeling so ya kinda have to extrapolate.

The State of Utah is planning a few more stations along I-70. The closest being Thompson Springs, 24 miles east of Green River. That will help some. And another at Ivie Creek Rest Area, but that's most of the way to Salina. Something closer to Green River on that side would be better, but at least it's something. Probably no power through that barren (but beautiful) canyon stretch.

I'd be a bit surprised if the Loves or Maverick in Green River don't add a little DCFC at some point. Be nice if one of the hotels added L2 as well. We spend the night in Richfield (when going west) and Grand Junction (when going east), where we get free charging at/near our hotels. But we'd consider Green River if they had it at a (reasonably-priced) hotel.

Also, there's that Starbucks/Volvo network that was planned between Seattle-Denver. But they leave a giant 240-mile gap between Provo and Grand Junction. Probably because there's few Starbucks along the way. There is one in Price, but that's inside a grocery store and they're probably only considering standalone stores.

it looks like Utah DOT had to do quite a few exception requests overall - two along I-70: (below from the NEVI approved plan)

The I-70 corridor spans from the junction with I-15 to the Utah-Colorado border. The
corridor spans 230 miles, which would require nine EVSE stations in Utah and one in
Colorado to meet NEVI spacing requirements. The map shows existing NEVI compliant
EVSE in three of the identified Utah locations (Richfield, Salina & Green River). Five
new sites are required to complete this corridor segment. Due to cost, geography, and
equity considerations, two discretionary exceptions are indicated where spacing
exceeds 50 miles (the Cove Fort exception request is on the I-15 South Corridor).

I don't expect it will but it would be awesome if the CCS adapter would also work at Tesla destination chargers, like those at hotels.

You can already get an adapter that will work on the destination chargers.

I've been wondering if the upcoming Tesla-CCS adapter will also work as a J-1772 adapter too. Hope so. My TeslaTap has worked fine but it's long and bulky. Would be a lot more convenient to have a single compact adapter for both that just fits in the driver door cubby.

Hope it has a lock hole too. I worry about someone stealing my TeslaTap overnight, so I keep a lock on it.

practically speaking, the tesla->CCS adapter can only do either J-1772 or CCS1/DCFC, not both. since the high current pins on the tesla side provides both AC and DC you'd need contactors and smart electronics in the adapter to be able to switch current to the appropriate J-1772 or DCFC pins on the DCFC side before you even plug into the car.

it could also be a safety issue so i doubt any vendor will even attempt one that does both.

the adapter will definitely have a locking mechanism on both the tesla/NACS side and the CCS1 side. it won't be a separate lock hole though - it will be built in and use the existing locking mechanism for each side.

10 pages of people hyped to overpay muskrat. This move will go down in history as one of the most boneheaded moves the auto industry ever made.

Sure. Won't work until Tesla makes it possible for non-Tesla vehicles to activate the superchargers. Even then, I am not convinced it will be allowed to work. Tesla may insist on only using Tesla made adapters or something.
I agree, all in the name of profit. I mean, all in the name of safety.

EvGo changed their rate structure a couple of months ago. You’d have to check their app or website to see how they calculate the usage fee at the charger you’re at. But the rate you’re charged at EvGo isn’t dependent upon which method you use to initiate the session.

When I use EvGo, I plug in without going into Charge Assist. The authorization happens and the session begins. But I setup Auto Charge + in the EvGo app, which is why I’m able to do that.
And with the changes, the price spiked by about 30%. I was among the grumblers about charges per minute, especially with the 50 kWh stations. But in Virginia, where I was able to find and use 200 kWh stations and getting 72-75 kWh rate at .30/minute, the change to kW received at .31 - .45 per was a classic case of be careful what you wish for.
