Ford Mustang Mach-E What's your checklist after an Power-Up update? IMG_2901

It's great that the Mach-E continually gets better after each Power-Up update. But, of course, not all the settings seem to stick around. :p After every OTA I run a checklist.

What's your post-install checklist? Here's mine:
  • Profile: make sure I'm still logged in as me
  • Drive mode: make sure it's still in Engage
  • Auto hold: make sure it's enabled
  • Alarm sensors: make sure motion sensors are OFF and to not prompt me every time I turn off the car
  • Mirror autofold: make sure it's enabled
  • Brake coach: turn it off
  • Air conditioner: turn it back on, set the fan speed
  • Vent settings: make sure it's still sending air out the dashboard vents (instead of to all 3: window, dashboard, footwell)

Break Coach is pretty cool but can you turn it off. Seems only to work while “engaged”

If you use 1PD, the Autohold setting has no effect.

Drive the car and figure out what changed. I don't worry about checking every little setting because I'll figure it out shortly after driving. It's rare that a setting changes for me.

  • Alarm sensors: make sure motion sensors are OFF and to not prompt me every time I turn off the car
FYI it's impossible to permanently disable motion sensors. They default back on at every key cycle. This is by design/not a bug.

  1. Wonder why some of my settings keep getting overwritten
  2. Wonder why people are raving about all these updates since all I can see is that they broke my settings, introduced more issues and maybe moved some icons around.
  3. Wish they'd use actual release notes instead of recycling existing ones from some kind of randomizer.

Your alarm sensors hold the off position?

Just spent 10 mins in garage checking and rechecking why the f*****g mirrors stopped turning in since the garden centre 5 mins ago when I came to lock Stangy; it’s a must because wifey’s car and the Stang top & tail park in garage, naawww?

Twas the angel of the Ford came down amongst us with another update: 6.2.1

All is calm all is bright [now]

Does it go when I press the GO pedal? If so, I enjoy the ride and sort out anything else when I encounter it.

Flip the radio back to FM from AM. At least it's been holding the presets for a while now. But it does come up after every (it feels like) OTA with staticky AM since I don't have any AM presets.
