Hi, I'm new to the Mach-E community. I just purchased a '21 GTPE, and the software seems to be quite a ways behind in terms of updates. Would you mind checking to see what FDRS shows in terms of the software or other items of interest? The VIN is 3FMTK4SX8MME02291. Thanks!

On Oct 24th the car was in for software updates (Powertrain, HVAC, ACM, WACM, OBCC) and diagnostics for why XM radio wasn't working.

On Nov 3rd it was back in for the XM radio thing again and they looked up procedures for removal of the APIM and doing pinpoint tests. No replacement authorization code (to order a replacement) was requested so I don't know if it was actually replaced.

The APIM (Sync) rev isn't that old and the gateway rev is also fairly recent.

The repair session log info listed above is really the only thing the car shows in FDRS. The car could have been in the shop for other work that is not shown in FDRS however (obviously).

DTC's being reported for the past two since Fordpass was set up are below. The first 4 you don't need to worry about since it is not recording "8F" in the status byte column. The 5th and 6th: If you are not getting any messages on your instrument panel, you can ignore those, too. The last two, you can also ignore. The SSM literally says to ignore the codes:


SSM 52130 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E, 2022-2023 E-Transit/F-150 Lightning - DTC P1A3C Stored In The OBCC
Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E, 2022-2023 E-Transit/F-150 Lightning vehicles may have diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1A3C stored in the off-board charger controller module (OBCC). The P1A3C is commonly set due to an interruption of the direct current (DC) fast charging process and should be disregarded. All other DTCs stored in the OBCC are to be addressed using applicable publications and/or normal diagnostics found in Workshop Manual, Section 414-03B.

These vehicles are always crying about something. None of these soft codes are anything to worry about in your case.

Good Morning - I'm new to the MME forums, but have found myself in a pickle when it comes to updates.

I purchased the vehicle from a friend - have everything setup, but haven't received an update since August(Still in 4.#.# range).

I've got an appointment at a local dealership on Thursday to have them hopefully push as many updates as they are able, but I just found this thread and figured I'd give it a whirl to see what I can learn!

Vehicle is connected to FordPass.

That would be with PTS, but your OTA dashboard is blank because you have not gotten any updates sent to you in a while. According to the Sync info tab in PTS, the last APIM OTA you got was in July of 2022 and that is what took to to Sync 22095 which is pretty old at this point. There is no way of knowing why you have not been sent any updates since then, but you are pretty far behind.

  • 22P31 REPLACE THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE HARNESS CONNECTOR
  • 23B50 CHARGE CORD STUCK REPROGRAM BATTERY CHARGE CONTROL MODULE
  • 23P08 DOOR CONTROL MODULE UPDATE
  • 23S56 HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX HVBJB REPLACEMENT AND POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE PCM, BATTERY ENERGY CONTROL MODULE BECM, AND SECONDARY ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC CONTROL MODULE C SOBDMC SOFTWARE UPDATE
22B28 is not showing for your car. I see no indication that any module updates were performed on your car. It shows a network test was done with FDRS, but no module updates were attempted. I also looked at vehicle history yesterday and nothing was done yesterday, either.

Hi rugedraw, it's been a week since you checked my VIN 3FMTK3SU5MMA42851 and, if there's actually any delay in syncing the dealer's side with Ford's, it should be good now.

Can you recheck it? If these FSAs you listed above are still pending, I'll need to open an incident with the BEV team to see what's happening, because they said they did 22P31, 23B50, and 23P08.

I would let them do their thing. They updated the APIM and GWM twice. You are now on Sync 23291. They tried to update the TCU and it failed the validation process. It took the tech an hour and a half to download the USB update and based on the time it failed, he/she called it a night after that and will trouble shoot tomorrow.

I was helping a member of the F150 forum who happens to live in Miami last night getting his job 1 truck going with updates, and the TCU update failed, too. His was a much older TCU update than this one, but it failed the same way. I've called in the cavalry to help me with this truck at this point, and they made need to do the same. If they need to involve engineers, it may take a bit.

FSA's are still pending and there is no warranty history showing in PTS for your visit yet. These things take time. A week is not enough. End of the month, end of the quarter and end of the year. Things are crazy at all dealers right now. Warranty claims take time to process. It could be a few more weeks before anything reflects.
