Then you definitely should have had BC as an available option when selecting cruise control.

I'd call the BEV team and have a word. Your car is capable of BC...well after that side sensor gets fixed. You could have some other software issue though....your car's update history prior to around September seems to be non-existent. Which make me curious.

I never had it as an option. Bummer, because I likely would have purchased the $600 for 3 year plan...

How would you recommend I start the convo with them? That I'm on a very old software version per someone with a FDRS account (thank you all for doing this by the way!) and ask them to take a look at my software update history?

Well I would definitely start with a discussion about the model of your car being a Premium with all the necessary hardware for BC...but BC never working for you prior to the trial period running out at the end of December. And see where it goes from there.

I don't believe I have BlueCruise (should I?), but my lane centering and adaptive cruise control both work.

I got the car about 3 months ago and have never received an update. The car was certified pre-owned so I figured all the SW was up to date but it appears not.
Trying to figure out why a dealer tried to run the 21G01 campaign to activate bluecruise on your car in August. Get me a pic of your "about sync" page on your touchscreen when you can.

Maybe because they were trying to sell the car? I bought it in September so maybe that was them trying to get it all up to date before putting it on sale.

Here's a pic of the "about sync" page.

There have been many many people on this forum during the last two years who never could get their BC to work....and many never took their cars in to get it sorted, even after two separate extensions of the 21G01 program. It was likely because the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Meaning they didn't really think they needed or trusted BC to work (even without ever using it) and also you have to factor in the overwhelming, and possibly debilitating, aversion to dealing with their service department.

So those owners just blew it off and eventually traded the car in....and it's now 2024 and the trial has expired, and I'm sure more than a few cars sold with BC hardware never got it activated and now that those cars are also out of warranty...... along comes the secondhand owner who really knows very little about the "history of the MME BC rollout"....and voila, perfect storm.

Yep, it wasn't very clear to me which cars had BC and which didn't. I read somewhere it should be listed on the window sticker and I checked mine and didn't see it (very well could have missed it). On top of that, they said it should come up in the "Connected Services" if you have it and mine didn't, so I just chalked it up to not having the hardware for it and didn't look into it too much further. It wasn't a dealbreaker to me to not have it, but had I known I had it I would have tried a little harder to get it. It was interesting to me because I know some people mentioned the cars that don't have BC don't have the eye monitoring system behind the steering wheel (don't know if this is true), but I checked and mine definitely does.

Given when you purchased the car I'm confident you're not aware that a couple of years ago there was a famously failed OTA (PowerUp 1.7.1) that caused literally thousands of cars to get "stuck" where they couldn't receive updates OTA and until they took the cars in to be diagnosed it just stayed that way.

Ford realizing they had a problem created a TSB procedure and added steps in FDRS (that required special USB and network adapters for the tech's laptop) to essentially 'side-load' into the APIM and clear out the corrupted data that was causing the problem.

Failing that, the other option was to replace the APIM outright with a new one and then just perform all the updates using FDRS to get the car back up to currency.

Part of the problem that may not be apparent to you yet...is that because your Sync (APIM) rev is so old.....other software updates that you should have by now have not been made available to your car through OTA or FDRS because of software dependencies. Meaning a shed-load of updates would miraculously appear in FDRS for your car (and/or likely as OTAs) right after your got that APIM (or GWM or TCU) unstuck. The special procedure used in FDRS to make this happen is the "Module Update Repair":
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others Module_Update_Repair

You need the service department to look into this and you may want to call the Ford Customer Service line first to have them open a case with your dealer. Having Sync 134 is only part of the problem....your software situation means no future updates will be forthcoming and you will never get BC to work (whether you think you'd use it or not). There are a lot of other software improvements (charging, powertrain, bluetooth, etc.) that you probably have not gotten because of this issue.

I would request that the service department get engineering support involved.

What does this mean?
Sorry, those are some of many modules in your car. Those three in particular are important in terms of your vehicle updating through the newer version of software. The fact that your Sync software version is from 2021 and you are not showing any pending updates for either of those modules could be a red flag. Give me a bit to find out more info.
