Does anyone have any idea what Tesla's charging rates are like compared to other charger networks? I realize EV charging rates vary a lot depending on time and location but I'm wondering on average how they compare. It would be nice if there was a way to check the rates when planning a route especially if they are significantly more expensive than others for non-Tesla drivers.

On a side note I'm assuming that existing charging credits available on our accounts for the Blue Oval Network will not work at Tesla chargers even though they will be part of the network.

Free charging hours have always been EA only.

I do not know if electrically it is safe to attach an extension cable to a charger that is carrying 480 Volts and up to 300A of current.

That's the plan. I've probably tried around that already. I'm likely never going to actually use the Tesla stations because enriching Elon isn't my idea of a good time but still want the option.

From my understanding it’s only if you want to use plug and charge. You can use the Tesla app to initiate a charge without an update.

That's nothing. You should have seen the pace an hour later when the west coast woke up. The 10 per minute pace you found there went up to over 50. That's why the server was bogging down. You probably got right in with no problem at #120.

Seen a number of July and even an August ship date reported. GM is up next. Their initial announcement said "early 2024" in one sentence and just "2024" in another for the adapters. Seems like we may be pushing into their launch by now.

Rivian posted to 'X' yesterday that they'll have access in March. When asked by Electrek when their customers would receive the free adapter they're providing, Rivian didn't give a date. Which means they're in the same queue that all of the Spring automakers, including Ford are in.
