I read in the users manual that for Lithium batteries its best to charge to 100%. I bought the car used from Carmax in looking up the VIN, I get this information:

Group NameElementValue
GeneralNoteTransmission Style: Direct Drive
GeneralBase Price ($)
GeneralNon-Land Use
InteriorEntertainment System
InteriorSteering LocationLeft-Hand Drive (LHD)
Interior / SeatNumber of Seats5
Interior / SeatNumber of Seat Rows2
Mechanical / BatteryOther Battery InfoStandard Range Battery, Rear Primary Drive Unit, Smaller Secondary Drive Unit
Mechanical / BatteryOther Battery InfoLithium Ion Phosphate Traction Battery
Mechanical / BatteryBattery TypeNickle-Cobalt-
Is the Lithium one the main battery and the nickle-cobalt-manganese the 12 volt? What do knowledgable people people think about the recommendation to charge to 100% routinely?
Since you have received answers that say that you have an LFP and NCM battery, I would try sending your VIN to one of the FDRS threads and see if they can definitively answer the question for you.

Read this post. Based on your manufacturer date you have an NMC battery. But you can check your VIN yourself based on the information in the post I linked. ??

He actually listed the VIN translation, just didn't understand it.

It's certainly not an LFP battery which didn't show up until cars built in the second half of 2023, and of course only standard range. It debuted about the same time the ordering windows were re-opened in 2023 which was around June-July

What I have read ncm batteries should be charged to 80% nightly and 100% when needed for LFP batteries charge them to 90% nightly and once a month charge it to 100%.

Why? He already received a definitive answer after he posted his build date.

My owners manual recommends 90% for my 23 extended range and 100% before going on a trip.

I read the same. I also read that the 100% charge once a month is also for the system to calibrate the BMS, which ensures the SOC % / miles remaining indicator is accurate.

My mme build date is 8/23 things could have changed before or after.

STOP THE PRESSES! Well look at what I found buried in the manual, buried as only an engineer would do. (Sorry I make fun of engineers a lot since my brother-in-law is one.) You can tell what kind of battery you have directly from the VIN. If the eighth digit is a 4 or 5, you have a LFP battery. If it is any other number, or a letter, it is a NCM battery. My eighth digit is a "S" so it is, as you all already advised me, an NCM.
