I've had this on one of my rear passenger doors, which was fixed under warranty last year. (June 2021 build). Honestly, Ford, can't you make cars anymore. You've only been doing this for more than 100 years. What with all the other recalls and issues, windshield (windscreen) replacement, glass roof resealing, HVJB recall, squeaks and rattles etc this may be my one and only new Ford car purchase.

My dad used to have a Ford Cortina (UK) in 1978 - 1984 in which time it became a rot box shed with split sills, non working wipers, manual gearbox which jumped out of third gear and the stick had to be held down to change into fourth and the camshaft self destructed. This while all being serviced on time. He vowed never to have a Ford again and his experience rubbed off on to me. It was known as the Dagenham dustbin. (When Ford used to manufacture cars there).

I thought I would give Ford a go this time as surely they've improved after all these years?
Spacey - How would you compare the overall quality of your British Ford to the quality of an MG car of the same era?

Wouldn't you know it? I just got Blucifer back from the dealership after getting 23S56, TSB 24-2038, CSP 22P31, and now this one shows up in the owner portal. I'm not going to rush back to get it looked at yet. And I still have 23B50 outstanding (on hold - but I thought it was addressed by 6.6.0?).

It was my Dad's car and at the time he bought it it I was too young to drive although I did drive it towards the end of it's short life as I was learning to drive. That was a hellish experience as well as the third gear problem I've just remembered that you had to play tunes with the manual choke lever as one minute it was too rich and the next minute it was too lean.

I did buy a 1982 Triumph Acclaim in 1989 and kept it until 1992 whereupon I gave it to my Dad and it carried on until 1996 when it finally rusted out and failed the MOT (150,000 miles). That car ran like a dream with good economy. I bought a 1989 Rover 216S in 1992 until I gave it to my Dad in 1996 and that one carried on until 2002 when again it finally gave in to rust.

I gave up the Rover 216 as I found out I needed a hatchback and power steering so bought a 1988 Mazda 626. The Rover drove fine with nothing doing other than normal service items.

I can't directly compare a 1970's Ford Cortina car and a British Leyland car as I was a teenager and didn't know much about cars but I knew my Dad's experience and learnt some new swear words along the way. ?

Anyway, even not taking the past into account the Mach-E has had the most warranty troubles of any new car since I was able to buy new from 2002. If you want to know more about my past experiences than PM me as I don't really like airing my dirty laundry in a public forum.

Yikes! My '23 falls within that window. I'm going to look as soon as I get out to my car in 30 minutes!

Just checked mine, and they appear perfect, not even like the "passes" picture.
May 2023 I checked all the doors and one that looks suspicious. Is the passenger front. I’ll check ford.com. See if my car got anything out there on it.

I just talked to my service department. It looks like they’re mailing out the letters starting today so I may get one myself but even still they’ve got pictures of mine and they are aware of the issue so if I don’t get a letter say in 10 days, they’ll just go ahead and take care of it and give me a loaner while in the body shop. Already set that up with the general manager!

Checked my hems, they need rework. It's not an urgent matter that I would take it in just for that, especially since they extended the service window.

For all those saying they will wait to get it done, I would advise get it sorted as it will only get worse. In a few years you don't want Ford saying you've left it too late and they won't sort it as new doors needed, you were informed of the recall, corporate blah blah etc.

Just checked my 2023 door sticker for build date and it says 6/23!! Is there a way to find the day in June?

Meanwhile, I've saved these copies to my Mach E file since it says 10yr/100K coverage. Something to monitor periodically.

Why don’t you do like I do open every door look on the inside edge if there’s no bubbling, you’re fine. I had bubbling on the front passenger for about an 8 inch area. Not as bad as the pictures. I think I posted mine up above here somewhere, but I’ve already talked to the Ford dealer. Once I get my letter, we’re gonna put it in the body shop, and they’ll give me a loaner .

Of course I did ball! Not my question though. Is there a way to track build D/M/Y?
