Wow, congrats on the new ride! I'm a Telluride owner, and so I've had an interest in the EV9. I'd really love to hear your take on it (from an MME owner perspective). The DigitalKey comment above is super interesting. PAAK is pretty clunky in the MME.

Well, in fairness, Ford put an end to the color's infinite status long before I did :)
The color I would have bought too, oh well, Grabber Blue certainly looks good too.

EV9 is an excellent buy, I'm a firm believer that Hyundai/Kia are crushing it in their offerings. Mach E was actually my second choice after the EV6, because between markups and no tax credit, the Mach E was $17,500 cheaper at the time. Love this car and aren't looking to replace it soon, but based on current market, Kia or Hyundai is probably where I'd go.

You are one of the most knowledgeable people on here. Sorry to see you go although good luck with the new car. I am waiting for the all electric Jeep Recon to check out and might make the switch too. I do love the Mach-e with all its faults and bugs I had with my Job 1 2021.

I guess you wanted more space? The ride quality is definitely better in the EV9 but I can't get over the low ground clearance.

Once you try the 800V charging.. it's hard to go back to anything else.

It was a good ride, but I always get the itch for a new car after a few years. I've been eyeing the Kia EV9 for a while, but was waiting for the price to come down. $15k off MSRP was enough for me to pull the trigger on a GT-Line.

I will say that this forum has been one of the positive aspects of owning a Mach-E. By comparison, the Kia EV forums are super lame. I'll continue to hang around here since I enjoy the company, and the MME will always have a place in my heart.

I really like the EV9 it may be next down the road for me. So is that a matte finish blue?

Yeah, I wanted a bit more space. The EV9 has more ground clearance than the MME, and I never had an issue with that.

I've already done a DCFC session. I plugged in at 37%, and it immediately shot up to 214 kW. It held steady at that rate until 80%, and it then dropped down to 175 kW. It gradually went down to 150 kW at 95%, where it then dropped to about 50 kW. I'll take that charging curve any day.

After owning 2 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIIIs and 1 Evo X I will never own another import. All imports are dead to me. They are all utter garbage. I think you made the wrong move.
To each their own. But you do know the Mach-E isn't built in the US, right? The EV9 actually is made in the US now (West Point, GA). Though, mine was built in Korea.

General, so sad to see you go. You have always been one of the helpful owners around here and one of the “original gang”.
Now, for the most important question - does that have a frunk? ?

It does! It's kinda small, but big enough for a backpack or take-out food. It even has a physical frunk button in the car and on the fob (and in the app).

One of my favorite things about this forum is how you are consistent with your focus, @Jimrpa! :D

To @generaltso - Wishing you the very best. The EV9 does look like a great ride. I hope that it (and Kia) provide you with plenty of reasons to stick around with that one for a while!

Wow. I can’t tell from the pic. Would a 22” rollaboard fit in there? (That’s my usual volume minimum for a frunk to be “useful”).

Not sure. I guess I'll have to measure. I really only use the frunk when I want my backpack hidden or when bringing home take-out, so it's big enough to be useful for me.
