This car has never gotten an OTA.

Here's the list of available software showing in FDRS:
3FMTK3SU6PMA76236-13-Jun-24.png

It's not often that I see the 'trifecta' in the available software list (GWM, APIM , and TCU) all at the same time. Normally one will be in the list, and then when that one is updated (via OTA usually) one of the others shows up next, because of software dependencies. So having all three in the list at the same time is an indication that either updates are not enabled or there's something else going on. Your car's modem is reporting status to the cloud.
Would you rerun the check again. I had the vehicle into the dealer last week and they updated the CMR module for the broken lane centering problem. And also last week the vehicle received three OTA updates on three successive days. Now wondering how much change can be seen. Thanks.

My car just jumped from 6.3.0 to 6.14.0 and now I have the driver facing camera fault. Does anyone mind checking if I’m awaiting any OTA updates that will fix it? If not I’ll have to take it in.
the VIN is 3FMTK3SU1PMA65337
Thanks!

Still a lot of stuff here...hopefully you'll get that TCU update soon.

This is the code your car is reporting and the TSB referenced by the code is attached. This code is being reported by your car for some time now. I am not sure why the update you just started showing a fault code now after the update, but the fix requires the CMR being updated. You do show a CMR update pending for your car.

Your modem is working fine and your car is talking to the cloud fine. I don't see any reason why your car is incapable of getting any updates. It seems like your VIN is not on an active OTA roll-out schedule right now.

Thank you! I will shoot you a note once I get to that point.
FYI the updates currently available in FDRS for 2021s will actually put you on “beta” 1.4 bluecruise software. Its a whole mess and I’m not sure why they haven’t pulled the current updates for 2021s while they prepare 1.3 for us.

You can still update to whatever is available in FDRS, but just know that in the new few weeks there will likely be another round of updates to put you on the official 1.3 release. So far 1.3 is only available in FDRS for 2022s and 2023s.

It might be an incremental update requirement. It might not. We'll have to see if they directly substitute the previous release with the newest outright...or whether it would require a two-step update (I doubt they'd do that at this stage).

But what is out there for '21s right now should be the -ACJ equivalent that would actually be closer to BC 1.2 than anything else.

Remember there will likely be some GWM updates sprinkled in there as prereqs as well.

Yeah, it’s the -ACJ update that is still there for 2021s. They will do a direct upgrade from 1.0 to 1.3 for those that aren’t on -ACJ yet, so no need for double updates.

I believe the new 1.3 version is -BAE.

I appreciate the heads up. Have you experienced the "beta" version of the software on your '21? I really enjoyed the Bluecruise experience in a previously rented '23 model, and was hoping to get most/all of that capability in my '21 before I head out on a long road trip in a few weeks.

I guess my main question/concern would be there are too many unresolved issues with the -ACJ version on '21s that make upgrading via FDRS not worth the trouble? I don't mind putting in the work to make it happen, but if the (current) end result is a more fractured product than 1.0 that might alter my timing.

It’s been rock solid for me on my 21 for the most part, I updated via FDRS back in the winter when it was first released. I enabled new features like lane change assist, in lane repositioning, etc via FORScan but even if you don’t do that you will notice a very large improvement in lane keep and centering.

Current version available in FDRS is a big improvement over the factory 1.0 software so I would still do it if you don’t mind updating again when the official 1.3 is out.

I've been running ACJ since December. Much better than the 1.0 my truck came with. Countless others have been running the ACJ version with no issues. Regardless of whether ACJ or BAE is what is available for you now, it will be a significant improvement over 1.0.

I haven't used 1.0 on my '21 yet, but I will activate my subscription before I do the updates so I can truly understand just how "improved" it is once I upgrade. Thank you for the feedback!

Where does one find the "ACJ" or "BAE" to determine the version of BC? Is this the suffix of a particular module software version?

Yes, it is the suffix of the strategy file found in location F188 on the IPMA.
