IMO, the FMC isn’t worth the hassle of a warranty claim unless you are only going to keep it for occasional road charging. ??How do you do the warranty claim on flacky mobile charger! They Ford or tru dealership?
I installed a 50 amp breaker and the Ford cable allowed me to add 20 miles per hour to my car. (That's exactly what the manual states.)I've been using included Ford Mobile charger (32A) to charge Mach-E for the last 18 month.
It was ok, once in a while it turns amber, meaning some power throttling. I typically fix it by replugging.
Should I expect it will die soon and install a wall charger? Or is it ok to use more?
I see a good price for Wallbox Pulsar Plus 40-amp EV ($250), and I am thinking of switching.
I've been using the Ford Mobile charger for almost 3 years with no issue, charges at 6 kw which is great for me, I prefer not to have excess current draw on breakers and connections. TheI've been using included Ford Mobile charger (32A) to charge Mach-E for the last 18 month.

I used the Ford mobile for about a year with the throttling. It never completely failed and always charged the car overnight. I eventually replaced it before the 3 year warranty was up. The second one lasted about six months before the yellow light showed up. I finally bought a wired wall unit and keep the mobile in the trunk for charging at a house or B&B that only has an outlet available.Should I expect it will die soon and install a wall charger? LOL my FMC is in my Family Room. I got a Tesla Mobile for the car )I already had a J1772 adapter). Just in case the FMC dies while on the road. ??Exactly for that, sometimes hotels parking do not have ev chargers but have outlets
Same here. FMC failed and Ford replaced it. Been about 18 months now. I'm finally jumping on the Fisker deal. I decided on an outlet in the garage rather than hardwired. Some others claim hardwired is better. I prefer to have the ability to switch out a charger if needed. The first mobile charger failed in the first few months but Ford replaced it. I would recommend using a plug in EVSE rather than hardwired,

Yes, I've had one of those for about 3 years now. There have been a couple of times it had faults, which were probably a result of something the MME caused, I would turn the breaker off then on to clear the fault. A couple of times it has dropped the wifi connection, I had to re-establish that, again be powering off the chargepoint and back on. Overall I have been very happy with it. With the app, you can change the charge rate, which is useful sometimes. The 12V battery is charged during the HV charging, or when the 12V gets too low. Lowering the charge rate will extend the charging time, which allows it to charge the 12V battery for a longer time, to a higher level.Do you have this one specifically, and if so, how do you like it? my Ford Mobile charged about 80,000 miles worth of driving with no problems.... just recently started showing orange light and slow charge, so I think it is on the way out...I’ve been using the included charger for three years. Not a problem yet
