I thought that issue was fixed back in January, by the TSB announced in the thread linked below.

Did the TSB not work? Or are you having a different 'uncommanded drive mode' switch problem?

Ummm, nope. Still drops out of unbridle back to engage on it's own from time to time. I notice it everytime when I'm coming to a stop and I see the "Energy returned" graphic....that's not there when you are in unbridle. I then check the drive mode at the stop and reset it to unbridle.

As I have written before I still get 1pd disengaging maybe once a week. I do not get a fault message, so I don't know of this applies to me. I can't say for sure but it seems to happen all or more often in engaged mode.

Does mobile repair mean they will come to my home to do an update? If that is true I will ask my Ford service for sure.

The "Drive Mode Unavailable" error has been reported here for more than three years now. So, it took Ford 2.5 years to release a fix, and the fix does not work. At least, the fix did not work for you. Maybe it worked for others?

This sounds like one of the more serious maintenance failures for this car. I hope you get it resolved someday.

Well to be clear...95% of the time there is no "Drive Mode Unavailable" message.....either that or I miss seeing it on the Sync screen because I'm not watching it while I'm driving. Instead, my first clue other than the lack of regen braking, is the "energy returned" graphic on the left side of the IPC as I'm braking, and the corresponding loss of the unbridle orange graphic bars. I do not have to shut the car off to go back to unbridle, I just reselect it from the mode menu and seems to stay that way for the rest of the drive (I don't take trips with this car long enough to see if it does it more than once).

My vehicle does the same thing except I'm usually wanting Whisper and finding it in Engage. The brake coach results are often the first thing I notice, too.

No messages about drive mode not available... That was fixed (at least partially) by an update within the last year.

Some vehicles may disengage one-pedal drive mode below 15 MPH accompanied by a "One Pedal Drive Fault" message displayed in the instrument cluster. This issue affects approximately 3400 vehicles. A software fix is available at your dealer by updating the PCM and powertrain modules. This will also be released as an OTA in Q4 2024.

History: SSM 52498 - "1 Pedal Drive Fault" Warning Message, P0C2F:92 Stored in the SOBDMC
It's really strange that Ford opted to have customers go into dealerships to have this issue resolved rather than push out the OTA update and leave the in-person interactions to those who still experience the problem after the update.

Yes. I had the 24B42 CSP done right in my driveway Friday. Also rotated my tires.

I'm in the same boat. With latest SW (including all the module updates that should contain the Drive Mode Not Available fix), I still randomly end up in Engage. They did remove the Drive Mode Not Available message though, so I think that's what the actual fix was ...

The weird thing is it will come in batches: sometimes it will happen several times per week, while other times there will be periods for several weeks where my drive mode does not change by itself.

I just received the 24B42 letter today. The timing is interesting, because I have experienced the 1PD disengagement a couple of times just in the last few weeks.

I’ll be scheduling a time to bring it in for the update, but do you think I could sweet talk the service center into getting my car *fully* up to date, including the requisite updates available in FDRS for BC1.3? What, exactly, are those updates? And would I still need to do something in Forscan after to fully enable?

I bet the 3,381 affected vehicles are largely the same ones that received the defective Field Service Actions on or after April 26 of this year for the HVBJB (22S41, 23S56), Charge Cord Stuck (23B50), and a few other FSAs. Those FSAs were suspended because they were found to cause 1-Pedal Drive Fault errors, and I suspect the affected vehicles - mine included - were never properly re-programmed to eliminate the faults. Ford does not admit that this is the case, but...

Call me a cynic.
I got this CSP applied (24B42) two months ago and have driven ~2,500 miles since then with no further recurrence of the one pedal drive fault.

So it still seems likely that the 3,381 "affected vehicles" were "affected" by the bad Ford software updates in late April. I also believe that CSP 24B42 does indeed fix the problem.
