Hello fellow MME Owners!

I was wondering if any one could look up my 21MY to see if anything is preventing OTA Updates or something. I haven't received anything in quite a while, thank you!

Your car is on Sync 23352 which is only one version behind the latest Sync version which has not been released for every vehicle yet. Your modem is properly provisioned and your car is talking to the cloud just fine. The only reason you haven't gotten any updates is because the OTA process is flawed, but your car seems fine and considering it is a job 1 2021, you are not in a bad place in terms of updates at all.

The OTA that failed twice was for your IPC. The first time it failed was on the 5th and the second time it failed was the 9th. And both time it says it failed due to "Release Notes Validation Error" of all things. Nothing to do with the state of your car.

I suspect that this OTA was withdrawn. It does not appear in your available software list in FDRS and it's clear that your IPC is still using the 'older' revision according to FDRS.

FDRS also says you still have the "-LT" revision, but again the newer revision isn't in your list of available software so the IPC has no available update in FDRS anyway.
Hi @Mike G,
thank you so much for your investigation. Esp. as this was completely not what I expected.
This means that the screen still shows the text from the OTA that I received in April, and that says something about a frunk update (what shouldn't be coupled to the IPC)?
Can you say to which OTA this IPC update could be related? Or is this something that they tried to do silently in the background?
Anyway, I am glad to know that I can stop to wait desperately for the finalization of this OTA.

If you're referring to pending OTAs, you don't have any.

There are updates available in FDRS though with a note at the bottom of the list about updating the GWM and IPC in order to see more available updates. I suspect that they mean the TCU that's also in your list. In any event if a tech were to update the modules in this list, Ford has provided guidance that the GWM, APIM, TCU, and IPC are to be updated, in that order, before doing any other updates.

So generally, how important is it to have all the modules updated? Is it worth bringing it to the dealer or just living with it so long as the car seems to be fine?

If it had gone through, it would have been:

Generally speaking, the dealer will not perform updates if there isn't a compelling reason to do them. They have to justify the labor cost to Ford. So there would have to be a TSB, SSM, or a FSA that dictates that if the customer brings in the car for some concern, and there is a software update that would address that concern, then the tech can apply that and get paid under warranty labor for doing it. Another good time to get these updates done is if your car is in for a 'recall' and it requires programming, then the service advisor/tech might be persuaded to update more than what the FSA calls for.
