There's a good morning's work here:

So the suggested sequence would be the APIM first in this case, then the IPC, and although it's not mentioned here, it is in Ford's programming guidance, that the TCU in that list would be the next thing that gets updated.

You are getting OTAs though, and the last one was for the gateway module on the 17th of Dec (ECG-24.2.5.6.2). So it's possible they might roll some of those updates out to you that way, we just have no idea when (and they normally only do one a week in any case).

Thanks Mike, much appreciated. What date was it manufactured, presumably in Mexico. Also do all the items listed in blue need to be updated, presumably by the dealer? Cheers Murray

Hello @Mike G , @rugedraw

Today I was in a store and my car said the vehicle is still on. When I went to turn it off, there was already a error message “Stop Safely”.

I hit okay and tried to start the vehicle and got this error:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others IMG_7355

Then i tried calling ford and they said they don’t see any error codes being reported to cloud. And said could be something with software, so I tried restarting Sync (volume down + next track)

And now started new error symbols:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others IMG_9921

As soon as Sync restarted, it got close to 30 min mark on accessory mode and vehicle was about to shutdown. And prompted me to turn on the vehicle, as I couldn’t do that I opened windows (for access in worse case scenario ) and got out. The vehicle had shut down.

When I tried to open the door it triggered alarm.

Had to hit unlock on fordpass to stop this.

As car recognized commands from fordpass I got hope to try starting the vehicle.

And god bless, it started. I drive quickly to the nearest ford dealership and they had a wait time of 3 weeks.

So, went to another dealership and I was asked to drive around for weekend to see if i would have any issues and bring it in Monday. I scared of this, anyone who can help please do.

This would mean a lot!

I'm guessing the codes hadn't been reported to the mothership yet when you called, but the codes are below. None of the codes reference a TSB or an SSM to give a clue as to what caused them or what the fix entails if it were an issue that required attention. Sometimes, a glitch int he matrix (so to speak) causes weird isolated incidents like this. This will be something that would have to happen again before I would say a dealer visit is warranted.

Have you started/driven the car again since it happened? Your car seemed very happy before today and has not recorded any codes in the past 60 days until today, so I hope it's just a weird glitch. If you have FORScan, I'd pull the codes to see if it is reporting anything after whatever happened happened.

Thanks @rugedraw ,

Yes I have driven to two ford dealerships and back home almost 30 miles.

I floored it to check the batter performance- was good
I was on highway with BC activated - completely fine
I was on normal road with ACC - was normal

Everything worked fine, but with a huge trip coming up next week, I didn’t want to risk anything. Can you please also see i have any pending module updates that might help?

This is what you show pending. So yes.....some of the modules the spit out codes do show a pending update.

If you drove 30 miles since it happened, you should be good. Obviously, it is impossible for me to say you're good and it won't happen again. What I can tell you is that if it were my car, I would not be worried.

6 June 2023 according to FDRS.

It would be desirable to have those updates applied. Just to bring your car current.

But dealer techs have been told that software updates will be pushed as OTAs (whenever they get around to doing that) and they will only get paid to perform updates (using FDRS) that are required by a repair procedure or in response to a 'concern' raised by the owner about something not working correctly.

It's about justifying the labor cost to Ford for the repair. Ford wants a record of everything that was done, and if something that was done that wasn't part of what the car was in the shop for, then it's likely the labor may not get paid under warranty.

My dealership's techs get $200 an hour. So I do my own updates.

I just upgraded from ‘21 select to a ‘21 gtpe. I’d like to see what Power Up/ OTA I’m on or what hasn’t been updated if anyone is available? TIA

Looks like none of the cruise control updates got OTA'd or updated using FDRS (CCM, CMR, IPMA, PSCM). No way to know by looking here if BC hands-free was ever activated or working prior.

There's a set of pwoertrain updates that could be applied, (PCM, BECM, SOBDM, SOBDMB, SOBDMC, but oddly no ABS to go with it).

I find it odd that the one VHA report for the 4th of Jan is preceded by a report of an OTA happening on the 14th of Nov. with nothing reported in the mean time between those dates.

If it was me I'd do the 5 minute 12V battery disconnect to see if that clears things up. There's also a TSB out for the 1PD fault that would get the powertrain modules updated at the dealer under warranty.

Thank you, Mike! I did activate the free trial and was able to use it for a short amount of time. I doubt I can take it to the dealership to have them do some of those updates.

I had a base, bare bones, select, so I wasn’t sure what I already had versus what I am missing.

Thanks @Mike G, taking it to dealership tomorrow. I also have a case number from Ford. So hopefully everything is covered. And thanks again for the time, to you too @rugedraw

You’re unlikely to see any OTAs in the first couple of months. Going by my 2024’s FDRS, I had 2 minor updates available when I got the car. I had several others available (APIM, GWM, TCU, powertrain, charging, and battery) at about 4 weeks of ownership (car was produced in October of 2024). Your VIN has PCM, BECM, SOBDM, SOBDMB, IPMA, SOBDMC, RFA, and ACM as available images. ??

Would running my VIN give any insight into why my FordPass app stopped starting climate, setting departure times, and just about everything else stopped working? I’m on an iPhone. Started about a week ago
