Thanks for that, hope it doesn’t go into reverse suddenly when driving . I’ll go read the horror now.

Followed the instructions for a change and it all worked well. Send to be fully up to date. I’ll wait for the surprises tomorrow.

Wish me luck.

After a very lengthy conversation with the Senior Sales Manager for the dealership group and an independent service tech. They've committed to ensuring the vehicle comes back fully updated and not just a round of updates.
Easy litmus test is turn it on an compare the screen or sync version to one on the lot.
Sales Manager said he would have a tech send a screenshot of fdrs before handing it over. He's concerned they had it two weeks and did a days work after pulling the previous work order.
I'll have someone here check it before I take possession. Hopefully someday I'll have a Mach E that has at least 2024 software.

Good morning folks. I'm due for my 1 year checkup and before I meet with the dealer, I'm wondering if one of you fine people would be willing to run my VIN to see if there are any SW updates due or pending for modules, etc.? VIN # 3FMTK1S50PMA91795.

Have you tried turning off welcome lighting, just in case that's what's doing this? When I had it turned on for my truck, I could be walking across the yard 40-50 feet from my truck and the lights would come on. That's a pretty strong Bluetooth signal. I turned off welcome lighting on both the car and the truck and haven't had an issue since.
I will try. It will welcome me 1 in 100 times when I walk up with the phone (10' max) so when no phones are near or moving I thought that is not it (made sure). When we have activated it with the phone they normally shut down after a bit not stay on for an extended period of time until I go out and shut them down. I have not rushed out there and do give it a chance ensuring no phone is near and/or moving.

Maybe it is the welcome not working and going on and staying on. That option is not needed as it does not really work so I will set that to off. Door faults and lights go on and stay on by themselves. Car is just bizarre with the amount of tech they crammed into this car I thought they knew what they were doing. Four years latter maybe not. Tech is great when it is working.

My 2021 only occasionally flipped on its headlights. probably because after the first time it did it I started turning the headlight switch off once or twice a week. This seemed to reset the switch so that it didn’t overflow often. I replaced the switch and all was fine. The replacement switch now lives in my 2024 since I was too lazy to remove the liftgate switch from the assembly. My 2024‘s original switch just sits in my garage forlornly. ?‍♂?

Anyhow, I guess this is a long-winded way of saying that switching the headlights off every once in a while is a good work-around and replacing the switch is a solution. ??
I did find SSM 51696 - Headlamp Switch Replacement before posting here hoping for a quick software fix and looking at recent changes. Says a DTC will be present but who know if that is still the case. Bummer such a long process getting this things hardware fixed now with the dealers appearing to be deterred. Just went through trying to get them to address my slow home charging. He tested said I was right and that is all he can do. Like the first year with a defective HVJB and it being on a 12V charger 24/7. Really like tech that works for me not the other way around ;)

Maybe just leave them on until they kill the 12V and then call a tow truck ;)

Looks like you finally got Software Update 6.14.0 yesterday! Congrats!

Here's the list of available software showing in FDRS right now:

The system says the last time your car reported it's health status was 19 March. So there's not much to go on in the system as far as errors are concerned.

Maybe that is why the lights were on yesterday (noted they shut off). It drew L2 for a while yesterday, no havc or pump so figured the 12V? Here is hoping they are starting to charge the 12V then update. If on L2 or HVB above 50%. Made me check my app and you are right 6.14. What happens to all the smaller updates of random names not received; do they get rolled up or do you just miss them?

Thanks again my list is pretty small. Due for 20,000 service and with the 12V, L2, door fault and my headlights maybe I can make it shorter. Set to precondition and be driven today so it will be more recent but the headlights going on has been taking place for a while.

The headlight switch itself is not programmable via FDRS or OTA, which is why a replacement is necessary. ??
