I wonder if the smaller frunk is because they added the heat pump or other goodies?

personally, I like my 2021 GT and am not excited about a new model with a smaller frunk. I keep all my charging gear in there and a case of tennis balls.

Probably similar to our Raptor’s stalk. And yes, its easy to inadvertently trigger something you weren’t intending to turn on.
You mean like how it’s easy to trip the cruise control, in a parking lot? ?

Yes, it’s due to the heat pump and from what I understand they put a bigger heat exchanger/condenser that is mounted at a slant like Tesla does instead of vertically like before.

If it will hold smelly chinese takeout or a couple large pizzas, it's still worth having.
It will not hold a large pizza. It probably will if you bagged all the slices and tossed the bag into the frunk. Having not yet seen the frunk on the '25 in person yet, but seeing some pics and a couple videos of it from the Chicago auto show, I can see it's pretty small. It will probably hold a mobile charge cord and charge adapters and I'll leave it at that.

The biggest compromise we're making by going to the Mach-E from our 2020 Model Y is storage space. We didn't use the frunk much, but that's probably because the lower trunk compartment in the Y is very large. Along with the two side cubbies back there. The Mach-E has none of that.... The rear storage is tiny.

The Mach E frunk hood is a tank
... And it's great to have it so solid. Ever see an S550 Mustang's hood at speed? More "Aw" inspiring than awe inspiring.

My frunk doesn't latch if I just let it drop. It needs a forceful two-handed downward push. I don't necessarily mind having to do that considering it is solid feeling. I've tried adjusting the rubber bumpers, but that doesn't seem to make any difference.
If you're still in warranty, I'd ask the dealer to look at it. Unless you've just not yet adjusted the bumpers low enough (which I doubt is the case) my guess is something is misaligned...

Today, I stopped by my Ford dealer for state inspection and, while there, asked if they had gotten any 2025 Mustang Mach Es in yet. They JUST received their first one - a Select. I asked if I could see the frunk.

As has been reported, the frunk is significantly smaller. The traditional frunk is between 14” and 15” from the bottom to the top lip of the tub. The new frunk is, perhaps 6” deep. It’s also not as wide or as long. You are no longer going to be able to fit 3-4 bags of groceries. Frankly, you will not fit any bags of groceries in the mini-frunk. If I upgrade my car (and they were pushing HARD for me to upgrade, on the spot, showing me the GTs they have coming in), the loss of the frunk will be a huge negative. To be honest, I’m not sure what value the mini-frunk offers. Maybe you can toss smelly workout clothes or sneakers in there? Not much else though.

Other very quick thoughts:
- The updated IP graphics are very nice. I didn’t see any significant graphics updates on the Sync screen.
- The new super-mega-multi-stalk (or whatever it’s called) will take getting used to. It has inner rings that twist and turn, the outer end twists and turns - I’m sure I’d be blinding people with the high beams every time I go to wash the windshield. By comparison, the gear selector lever looks barren. Maybe it has hidden abilities Ford will unlock later.
- The fob does indeed have a frunk button now! (Of course, that functionality is pretty useless!)
What the frunk!?! ?

No. The Raptor’s cruise control is designed so that it can’t be turned on. Even when you want to.

Seriously, there are so damn many levers, stalks and paddles on its steering wheel that’s it’s not funny.

I love that shade of blue.
Are those stock or aftermarket headlamps? I’ve never seen them before.
Most importantly, is that Riley on the left side of the pic?

I LOVE popping (pun intended) in the frunk threads! Personally have never used mine after a year but LOVE the passion of you "frunksters".

"I'll never buy a 2025 because they shrunk the frunk!
"
"Frunking Ford, shrinking our frunk to pop in a heat pump!"

"OMG, have you seen the shrunk frunk in the 2025?"

This is my new favorite topic since the NACS adapter shipping threads has ended! Keep up the good work "frunksters"! Love the passion...

Thanks Jim! That is Ford Performance Blue. It was a special limited color offered only 4 years from 2018-2021 and only on Ford Performance Vehicles. Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT500, Raptor, Explorer ST, Edge ST and the Ford GT Supercar. I originally ordered the GT500 in Iconic Silver but changed it to Ford Performance Blue at the last minute before it went into production. All of the Ford Performance vehicles were originally shown in a promotional color called Liquid Blue which was the best blue I have ever seen. Unfortunately when they went into production, that color was never offered however Ford Performance Blue was and is a close match.

Those are aftermarket headlamps made by Morimoto. They have several different styles for the S550 Mustang and many other vehicles. I liked these as they have a clean, mean look to them. The sequential LED turn signal lights below are also Morimoto's

Yes, that is Riley on the left side. I took that photo 5 years and 4 days ago so she was just a year old. ? The front end looks slightly different today as I added the front air dam splitters wickers on each side and filled in the GT500 recessed lettering in the bumper with Ford Performance Blue inlays.

Aw...right!!! That's a very special case. I bet the hood pins are really functional.

Sweet!
