So, let me get this straight (as one of those few hundred customers with a problem), my car is still at the factory and it will take at least 8 weeks to solve the problem! I have waited 14 and half months and received zilch in the way of communication about the problem. And this "executive" thinks they are doing a good job? ( Jan 25 article quoting Hau Thai-Tang, Ford's vice president of product development and purchasing )
The only comfort I MIGHT find in this, is that mine has already been in production jail for 48 of those 56 days.
A bigger question that I think is really important is WHAT part had the quality issue, and PLEASE don't tell me it is a quality problem with the battery supplier (ref Kuga, Escape, and Corsair PHEV problem)! I will be transporting my family around in a vehicle where we are sitting on Lithium Ion batteries that can "Halt and Catch Fire". Those familiar with the early days of the PC may find some humor int the phrase, but in those days it would not kill you!
