Given my decision in late March to shop around for a Select instead of waiting on my Premium ER, I think I’m going to have to write about this experience and title it:

”Doctor Rangelove: Or, how I stopped worrying and learned to love my Select”

I ordered a CRTE1 on Feb 7 2022, which still has not gone into production. Got impatient with process and current fuel expenses were killing me. Found a dealer ordered, Premium near me, within 100 miles and put deposit down. Now just waiting on delivery to dealer. June 16 eta now….ughhhh.

I honestly was considering this in December/January. I saw a few Premiums show up online. My family and friends talked me out of it. They were like, "you already have a hybrid car, just wait" and bam I was scheduled for production. And luckily, outside of a few shipping delays, this build week has been going well so far.

....I still look though ?. I've had a lot of family and friends ask me about this car. I think a lot of people are interested in it but are hesitant about all electric. There are quite a few Selects (and a couple) of GTs in our area. The GT markups are insane though, I've seen a 20k markup on one and it was a used 2021 model.

❤ are 1st sight. Even though she was taking a bubble bath at the time??.

We didn't even ask or entertain the Ford options cause we wanted to purchase not lease and plan on having long time ?. 0/36 is what we choose. Only hiccup was we didn't tell them at the time of ordering (Oct) that we were x-plan members as our price would have adjusted then. So we are waiting 30-45 days to get a check back for price protection. Don't expect there to be a problem. Found out last night at bunco that one of my friends...her hubby is the GM of that dealer. Told me to come to her for anything ?. Nice to know she's in my back pocket. Won't use that weapon unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. Checked her inside and out. Must admit, was VERY hard to view with a critical eye when my eyes were glazed over with ❤?. But I did try VERY hard, cause I didn't want ANY crap. So much to learn. This process is sooooo VERY different from any other purchase.
In the past, u just walked in and bought a car. Because of the 7 month of waiting and the rollercoaster i started shaking yesterday afternoon b4 buying and still shaking this am. Couldn't sleep last night, kept thinking bout her in the garage.

So excited for the rest of you and can't wait to see pictures and ur reactions.

Fantastic-- congrats and enjoy!

For those still considering Ford Options-- it's not a lease, you will be on the title and get the full tax credit :) You can't beat 0% financing though, I would've definitely gone with that as well in your shoes. I'm sorry to hear about X-Plan (I don't think it should matter whether or not you told them about it at the time of order or not... but dealerships have the power). But the Price Protection definitely goes further and that's the most important to fight for. Glad that should work out fine.

UPDATE: So my Mach-E (I've tentatively named her Mach-E-ato) is currently sitting on a truck with three Mavericks headed to the dealership. She was picked up yesterday afternoon from the Port of Wilmington where she sat for a few days after being unloaded from the NS train. I'm expecting it to be delivered to the dealer later today and hopefully be ready for me later this week. Fingers crossed!

I'd like to thank all of you forum members for all of the assistance and info you have provided along the way. It's a great community that has come together here to help each other out. It's exciting to see this build week reaching the end of the journey and get delivered to their new homes.

It’s difficult for people to understand that’s not a lease because of the balloon payment, but the benefits of it are fantastic. Since we swap vehicles regularly, the low payments of the program and incentive for using Options helped get the payments to beyond a comfortable amount.

I'm very curious about this option. I'm wondering if the incentives are based on your home address or the location of the dealership as I am purchasing from the next state over. MD has a $2k rebate for Ford Options, whereas my home state is only $500.

You get the incentive based upon the address (state) where your dealership registers the vehicle. Otherwise, everyone would be buying from an MD or CA dealership :)

Yes, the rebates vary by state. I did qualify for the $500, but because my car wasn't really a custom order (it was a dealer stock order that I managed to "intercept"), I got stuck with the 3.9% APR. Honestly, though, that's still cheap money compared to how things used to be... we just got really spoiled by those crazy low APRs the last few years.

As others have pointed out:

Ford Options isn't a lease. It's a loan structure that allows for lower payments and less money down, and includes the option to return the car at the end of the "lease" period before the balloon payment is due. You can sell the car, or use it as a trade-in with Ford.

One big difference between Ford Options and a traditional lease is the residual value. With the lease, the residual value is MUCH greater, which translates into lower payments up front. My understanding is that the reason for this is due to the federal tax credit; you qualify for the credit with Ford Options, but not with a regular lease.

Hmmm. I live in MD, but ordered from Virginia. Do I get 2K? How long has the rebate been around? Can I get after ordering?

I got offered a base Select (no options) for $58k... yeah, no.
