Got an appointment with my Ford dealer. I'm hoping for a service experience as pleasant as my sales experience was. ?
Hopefully not Ernhardt.

I got this part installed but I have a premium 4x - I looked back at the part number I had noted down from the dealership and it says NK4Z10C666C
That is the second (I believe) version of the extended battery (non-GT) HVBJB. ??

I just bought a new 23 gtpe 2 weeks ago and you guys have got me regretting my decision. What happens when warranty runs out and this is still a problem? ? ?

EV-specific components fall under the 8 year, 100,000 mile warranty.

What I don’t understand is how Ford even gets to revision D, E or F and still hasn’t completely eliminated this issue. I don’t think if heard of this issue with any other EV except maybe an early Tesla? What is it about the design that keeps failing and is so difficult for Ford to fix? This must be costing them far more in repairs, brand damage, etc vs just putting in a quality , well designed part in the first place.

Ford is notorious for doing the very absolute minimum for a recall. See the Focus automatic transmission fiasco.

It’s crazy to me that the -B part for the GT is so bad that it’s failing a month after leaving the lot. Ford should extend the recall to any GT and 4X that has the older HVBJB, including recently repaired cars.

So far, we haven’t had reports of the -C (GT) and -E (4X) parts failing.
I have an E part that just failed

Scan tool shows: P0AA1 - Hybrid/EV Battery Positive Contactor A Circuit Stuck Closed
Same thing happened to my '23 GTPE Thursday last week. Wouldn't start with same code. Only 6k miles with < 10 DCFC sessions. I do have a lead foot. Lots of straight roads here in Phoenix. :)

This is the 7th new car I've purchased in my adult lifetime and is the only one to have a catastrophic failure. To be fair, none of those cars were a brand new power train technology from scratch, so I'll cut Ford some slack. Ford roadside offered me a $30 Lyft credit in case I was broken down on the side of the road. Luckily I was in my garage at home. Ford gave us all a free NACS adapter. They are trying really hard to compensate for these technical issues.

Hopefully not Earnhardt.
Well, mine is getting fixed there. Hopefully it goes smoothly. I was impressed when I took it there back in Feb and they did a non-scheduled 12v battery replacement on a busy Saturday while I waited.

All I got was a rock. I would take that they do not run down the warranty replacing under designed parts with under designed parts. That however is not the case.

Mine sat for a week on the lot, completed. After I went to the lot to reclaim it, in whatever state it was in, they realized it was done.
