2025 MME Rally left me stranded... HVBJB failed...

Drove to Santa Fe from Albuquerque. Stopped for a couple of hours, and when I got back in the car, it started throwing all these warnings...
Stop when safe, 4wd not functioning, Rear backup assist off line, Traction control error, etc.
It would not start and couldn't shift out of Park. Had to use the emergency tow system to get it into neutral. Took almost 3 hours for a tow truck.
The Rally has less than 600 miles on it. So disappointed... have to wait for a diagnosis... ?

Not a pretty sight...

Something very similar happened to my 2022 GT, except it had fewer miles on it and it was 3 days old. While it could be something else, it's fairly likely that the 12V battery is depleted from the trip from Mexico to the US which takes weeks. The good news is that generally these issues are easily resolved. Best of luck to you!

@JohnFoxeSheets is right. The 12v would be the most likely suspect. If your profile is correct, Factory to Kansas City takes 1 week of travel time. KC to New Mexico is another almost a week. That doesn’t count the sitting time as none of this happens fast. Sitting at the KC rail yard and at the factory waiting for its turn adds up.

If it is a 12v issue, it’s an easy fix and you’ll get the car back quickly.

Totally agree. I just don’t understand how a gigantic 91kw battery in the same car can’t keep a tiny 1kw battery topped off enough to not shut the car down.

Of all failure modes, Ford probably never expected the pain and suffering many of us are experiencing from a pos 12-volt battery. We stopped talking about the HVBJB and now the biggest issue is this frigging battery.

You'd think Ford would know about this since they had the exact same issue on the Focus Electric over 10 years ago!

Something I'm still not clear about. Is the 12v supposed to charge from the HVB or only when the car is on a charge?
I also wonder about the necessity of a 12v at all, why not replace the 12v with a voltage converter from the HVB. The idea of have to "jump start" an EV seems kinda silly. I have a Zero motorcycle that uses a 80v to 12v converter eliminating the need for any additional accessory only type battery.

I get there are safety reasons for not wanting to have the big battery pack online the entire time when off, but in a scenario like this why wouldn’t there be a way to manual close the contacts to the main battery to get enough power to move the car to a dealership, etc?

Bummer this happened. The symptoms (multiple unrelated error messages) tend to indicate that the 12V battery is very low, to the point of not being able to bootstrap all of the car’s systems. ??
